Omg you crack me up, R. You had me LOL-ing there a few times. I think I'd give about all the same ratings as you. I'd love to see a filter for "3rd party registration required" (so I'd know which ones to avoid). And clearer details on credits when you do get them (as you stated). Keep up the great work!! :)

Thanks Thea 🙏 I agree with most of the Canva Experts that Apps could be better organised. A lot of them aren’t that good/useful. What would be even better is a rating system for users to rate and leave a testimonial about the apps.

Please Help! I am using Canva to remove a background from an image I took with my camera. Removing the background has been simple so far. The problem is "after" I remove the background. There is "empty space" all around the border of the image. If I try to crop out the empty space, portions of the image edges are removed too, especially if the image isn't perfectly straight. I am trying to start an online small business and have been stuck for several days with this issue. Hope this makes sense 😞

When you double-click on your image, you should be able to crop it. Drag the edges of the image (grab them by their white handles) and resize your image as you wish to get rid of the empty space.

Why does Canva approve so many apps that suck? I think they should raise their standards, even if that means having less apps available.

I tried the EmojiArtist app and could not get AI to generate a black woman with an afro or a black woman smiling. Often I got a grey or brown background and even a black background with red dots. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I work for creative agencies and am concerned that if AI can't generate BIPOC, the lack of content will deter creatives from incorporating or maintaining diversity in marketing. Thank you for voicing your concerns about AI shortcomings as they relate to representation.

Hi there 👋 I went back to the app after reading your comment, and tried "A black grandma", got a gray square, "An African American grandma", again got a gray square, then I tried "A blond grandma" and actually got a blond grandma 😖 I'm going to report this to Canva

You need to read the app info. There should be a link in the bottom left corner of the editor when you use the app.

I used Logo Maker today, and it worked! The logos it created didn't knock my socks off, but it did adhere very closely to what I asked for in the prompt. The designs were simple, which I guess is a good thing for logos. EDIT TO ADD: I think it is probably best for abstract shapes. I asked for a pink and purple swirl for a tech start up, and that turned out really cool. When I asked for concrete things like animals, the moon, plants, etc., the results were not as good as what I would get from something like midjourney.

When headshot was first launched it was excellent. It now seems to generate headshots that are not where near as good. Which is exactly what happened with the Bairbie AI generator...

Hey Ronny! The Logo Maker worked for me. But the result was rather disappointing. I asked for a pink horse and a green rabbit. And the apo returned a pink horse with rabbit-ears in front of a green background. It's a pity, that mostly the prompting seems to be the problem with theese apps?!

Hi Veronika, Thanks for letting me know it worked for you 🙏 I think the true problem is not so much the prompting (not coming up with good enough prompts), but rather the fact that these apps are built using models that are a bit old already (to save costs). And therefore, you don’t get what’s best.

This is a good idea. I know Canva is going to continue adding more and more team features as this is where they are focusing their marketing efforts in 2024. So we’ll look into how we can cover that more here on the channel or maybe a course.

I agree with most of your scores. The thing with the watermarks suggests that the AI is trained on watermarked images (most likely without permission). I'm playing with Cartoonify a lot. It's not super consistent, but some results are great.
