Hot oil it’s normally something you should do before anything else. So before even washing your hair, the hot oil is going to get that moisture back into your hair that it needs and also will be a protective layer for your hair once’s it’s being shampooed and not strip your hair it’s it’s natural oils.

Can I oil wash, conditioner protein then oil?

Hi! So I’m not familiar with oil washing but I do know that would cleanse your scalp which is important. Hot oil is best to do beforehand because it’s adding an additional layer of moisture back into your hair so that when you do cleanse, it won’t strip your hair. And then gives more manageability in your washing process as well. Then deep Condition after that and style as desired.
