I have to admit that my thoughts on Shia have become more positive in these last couple of years. Whatever people think of his political opinions aside it certainly does seem like he's more grounded and stable than what he was before. I still think he must have suffered as a child actor and while it doesn't excuse his insults and tirades towards others I hope he finds the help or at least stability he needs because in this stable form he seems like a nice guy.

One thing that Sean does almost better than anyone is he gives background and lays a foundation for the question he’s asking. Let’s the person know who he’s interviewing kind of like “here’s why I’m asking this”, and it shows a genuine interest in them. Which most guests seem to appreciate as well. On top of him consuming as much content and information as possible about the guest. Needless to say, he doesn’t need break out a stuffed animal or a prop or contact your HS principal to conduct a great interview.

@@Ruf-Art-by-Tim I mean, look at it this way. You've done close to a thousand interviews and a good 80-90% of them are the same speal, You begin to not expect much out of any of them afterwards, then you get an invite from some youtube people to do another interview but also eat hot wings, you check into the concept mildy cause its new but its still another interview so more shallow questions and thats it. Then your pleasantly surprised when the guy hits you with actual thinking mans questions or brings up this small minoot, no one would know now detail. Its great. On the hand of why do they get mad about dumb questions, well you called me out here to promote some piece and your gonna try and disguise that with some garbage or charged questioned that ive either already answered several times, sometimes with the same person and yeah, they're gonna get upset after awhile. Its why i love when sean asks them to tell the people what their up too and some dont, cause they respected the interview itself more than the novel ideal of shilling out some movie promo.

I like to think the people who are the best in their field aren’t taught by someone else. Because you would have to be the best to teach someone how to be the best. The only way to become as good at something as Sean is at interviewing is to do it in your own way. You have to master it yourself. It’s kind of like an art. You can teach someone the basics in art, and you can teach someone painting techniques, but you can’t teach them how to be good or how to be creative. A lot of times that stuff has to come naturally.

Man every fan of Hot Ones knows how much time Sean puts in to researching his guests and whenever he gets complimented on how different, obscure or just how great a question can be is just awesome seeing how famous the show has gotten.

Is it just me, or does Sean’s clothing always compliment his guests style? Like he’s vibing off of that research and it’s subconsciously manifested in his wardrobe choices. Like Sean but through the lens of the guest.

One thing that prob goes unnoticed is besides all the research the "team" do on the guests n all that Sean himself really does a deep dive on them too, I remember him telling that super genius physicist or whatever he is that he had read his book on the weekend kinda thing so def lots of respect for that. Sean does waaay more than just eat wings n learn the questions he has to ask his guests, he def does his homework on them too n it's why he gets all the love from them

I think the magic of Sean as an interviewer is the fact that he's such a basic, down to Earth personality. His groundedness helps set a good vibe and pace for interviewees to be relaxed in as opposed to say a Talk/Late night show where the hosts are big personalities and characters in and of themselves which leads them to interject into interviews and conversations. However, I wouldn't compare him to Nardwuar as a lot of people seem to be doing simply because I feel like they differ too heavily in content and intent. Nardwuar is an interviewer in the purest sense of the word while Sean is a host who's great at interviewing.

I love watching Evans's Interviews especially the interviews he did with the Female Actors. Why you ask? Because he asks relevant questions and not questions relating to a female's undergarments or her sexuality. He asks deep questions where I get to know the people I love much more personally. Thank you for making this video in respect of this great guy named Sean Evens.

It honestly blows me away that Sean was like "Hey, I have to interview these celebrities... why not do some research on them before hand, ask them insightful questions based on that research, then shut up and let them actually answer?" and its somehow a revelation and so incredibly rare that like every guest comments on how "incredible" it is. Just shows how lazy and shit most celebrity interview formats really are. Like you'd think that idea would be where you start from, but clearly its just not lol

I think what people like is that he doesn't treat them like something to be oggled at. He doesn't treat them as above anyone else, he treats them like a human who is doing what they love. He doesn't put them on a pedestal, he is equal and makes them feel comfortable. Also, doing all this background checking and research shows the amount of respect he has for all he interviews, which is both impressive and amazing. He himself deserves a lot of respect for that.
