Hot Rod Power Tour Day 2 and 3

It's day two and three of Hot Rod Power Tour 2023. We will be leaving Atlanta and heading for the fairgrounds in Columbia, South Carolina. we will see some cool cars and have a great time. then day three will bring us to Rockingham North Carolina. we will see lots of cars. We will also breakdown but still have fun. Also there will be a few burnout along the way.

That boxy-looking SUV you said was a Honda is an MV-1. Purpose-built van for mobility challenged people. We have one up the street from us. Some very cool looking rides for sure. Quite the line up...OMG. Looks like a great couple of days on Power Tour. Looks like some work is required on the cooling. Like Dan on DDSS says you can never have enough cooling on Power Tour. Are you missing the air dam under the radiator? My first 3rd Gen was a 1986 Trans Am and it kept overheating and I couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was until a buddy of mine with a 1989 Formula Firebird told me about the air dam. Sure enough, we looked under my car and mine was completetly missing. It's just a piece of plastic that hangs 2-3 inches under the radiator and runs the full length of the radiator. Since the Camaro and Firebird front bumpers don't have vents in them like most cars the air dam is designed to stop some of the air going under the car as you're driving and directs it up into the radiator to aid in the cooling. I found a piece of plastic trim off a truck that was about the size I needed and just cut it down with a sawsall and zip tied it up under the radiator. It made a world of difference.

I do have the air dam. The issue is these fans don't pull enough air. I'm going to get a better set of fans. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really do appreciate it.

@@ForsakenSteel You could also try using a 160 degree thermostat. The older non-LS engines didn't go into closed-loop until 195 degree coolant temp but LS engines go into closed-loop at 160 degrees so with a 160 degree thermostat you can set the fans to kick on at about 175 degree and set them to kick off at 160-165 degrees without affecting the optimal engine management.

You need a bigger aluminum radiator like my Camaro has mine a 82 it has slots in the ground effects to let more air on radiator and yes the fan shroud is complete

I already have a four core rad. It does fine as long as you are in motion. These fans are some cheeper one's from AutoZone. They aren't moving the air like they should.

These fans are not moving enough air. They are just some AutoZone specials. My buddy put his hand in front of them and called it a light breeze. 😂
