This video isn't designed to upset anybody, except you, maybe. I just enjoy sharing my thoughts and viewpoints on art because it seems everybody's definition is different.

Just seeing this channel linked from your insta. Nice content! My comment will be months late and stale but liked the video and subscribed. Your take is great (on taking vs making). I describe photography as being good at knowing where/when to locate and push a button, so I found this relatable. Obviously there is a lot more to photography and videography: initial choices of lenses, filters, exposure settings, post editing, lighting, but the basic premise is unchanged since the first photograph: point lens and capture light, then go from there.

There are so many forms of art. Photography is one of the more weird forms. It is not really about building something, more like selecting something from a limitless 3D world, transforming it into two dimensions and then calling it art. Like in "found art". Instead of the manual craftsmanship of a painter or a sculturer, the photographer has to resort to a library of images and concepts in his head, compares it what he or she sees in the world (or would probably see, if they moved a bit to the left and back) and then makes a judgment and select something visible at from that particular ponit of view at this very moment. It is a "look what I saw" move. It takes a lot of visual education to begin to really see things and a bit of technical prowess (less and less with every technical generation) to produce imapcatful photographs. Photography is about recognising color, brightness, contrast form and composition in the real world a quickly freeze this scene.

I like what you said at 6:45. That really makes sense the more I think about. This examination/analysis of art is super interesting. Looking forward to hearing your perspective on Ai generated images

Dorky Canon shooter here. I enjoyed your perspective. Like you, I've had the "curse" to create. Started with music, moved on to writing, then to culinary cooking, and now my phase in life is into photography (street). I like the idea that we "take" a photo and transform it into art ( in painting you add to it. In photography you take from it). Anyways man, I like your take on the whole thing 🤙

Nice video. You 'make' a photo if you do post processing beyond the basic RAW aspects captured with the photo (exposure, saturation etc). You 'take' a great photo by composing the image being captured, making judgements on the light, time it's taken, focus, framing and camera settings. Update, on reflection you can't 'make' a photo you can create an image from a photo. Photos can only be taken.

It is interesting to think about. Cuz if you remastered a song, you wouldn't call it "making" a song. But if you wrote, recorded AND mastered the song, you would consider it "making".

8:48 Pug I like the new look. Keep the transitions. Feels pro. You sure you're not an actor? 😊 I'm in the luck camp. You still need some skill and a creative eye for composition but luck plays a big part. AI is still primitive now. Scarey where it's heading
