HOT TOPIC: I’m 29 years old. During the first lockdown 3 years ago, I met a UK-based lady online and started dating. During that that period,I was financially stable as I was working for a popular Online TV which had good business. Things took a down turn after the lockdown and I opened up to my partner of which she understood and she started helping me out with money for food and rent. This strengthened our affair to an extent that she came to Zimbabwe for introductions. She met my family in August last year but I didn’t tell them that she is 11 years older than me. My secret did not last long, my aunt visited us and my mum showed her pictures of my girlfriend. Coincidentally, they attended the same school. Now the whole family is against my decision to marry her. We were almost done with lobola preparations. I’m honestly thinking of hiring a lobola squad to proceed with the plan. Am I wrong? Please help!
