I’m a born and raised Cali Gal who moved to BC, Canada in 2014. I am 41 and i travelled a lot in my 20s. Everytime I would return to LA, my intuition felt like there was something bubbling beneath the surface. This feeling started around 2010-2012. I couldn’t place it; but since moving up here, I have watched so much devastation, and had to check on so many friends who are still there. Floods, fires… I just dropped off my kiddo to elementary school, and saw your video. I’m in tears. Pali was one of our favourite/biggest swimming rivals. I’ve had business accounts in many areas. I helped teach in Pasadena with my friend who was the lead on the design team for the Mars Rover. I’ve got so many stories, so many memories of LA. I’m so heartbroken to see this. Thank you for sharing this information. 😢

Don, the last time my daughter and her family had to evacuate they were robbed. Criminals stole the items from the car when they went inside the house to get more boxes. Not only do they have the fires to deal with, but also crimes!!! AWFUL!!!

I’m in Long Beach, luckily there hasn’t been smoke and ash overhead, my fire dept a few blocks away sent a strike team to help earlier today, and I just came back from sending flowers to the remaining men still here for their braveness, I admire and respect firemen so much, especially in the national fires that CA goes through., they put a lot of time and work helping people, and a lot, at least in my area are really good men and bad ass women. Guys, remember that fire stations are open to everyone, it’s never hard to stop by at a reasonable time, give your thanks, see if there’s any tours you can take. I plan on sending more flowers in about a week or 2, when the strike team is supposed to arrive because I know they’ll need the morale. Praying for all the CA people near the forest/mountain areas. My aunt lives in Irvine, very close to the mountains and my family has been very attentive to her situation, which doesn’t seem too horrible now, but geez the wind in CA has been terrible

My brothers and sisters live in Porter Ranch/Northridge. They’re okay. My sister drive from Lancaster to Burbank early this morning…. She’s the top supervisor at St Joe’s Providence. She made it there safe but probably can’t get home tonight. My other brother is in Palmdale-they’re safe. My youngest brother is in Simi Valley and he is safe. We went through this 30 years ago BUT NOT THIS BAD BY A LONG SHOT!
