i had this figure on pre order and as soon as I saw that new head sculpt I cancelled it. No one needs a paul rudd that looks like he is about to cry

that translucent box is very cool. And wow, the Paul Rudd head looks so depressed! and yeah, one of those eyes looks too saggy. The costume looks great but heck, that head sculpt! I like the Ant-Man and the Wasp smiley one better, at least it looks like Paul Rudd. That's the version I have but bought the Civil War head sculpt to use (I really don't see the Ben Affleck comparison).

This is going to be my first and only Antman figure. I was hoping the sculpt would be better, overall it seems okay so helmet on 24/7. I do wish they included a broken helmet towards the end of the movie. The pushing button thumb gesture hand would've been nice to have. The neck should've been like The Wasp as you mentioned.

Unpopular opinion : I actually liked this suit in the movie...I just hated that it was nanotech...Its my second favourite mcu ant-man suit design...first being the endgame version

It does have a nanotech, there tech is always different. The endgame antman suit had nano helmets. The helmets retract, thats why you can see some peaces in the back. Your angry come from your misinformation

It's a decent suit design for the most part, but yeah... that lazy eye is odd. They just can't seem to nail Rudd's likeness to a super-high degree. (The lazy eye makes him LOOK high). Thanks for the honest review.

I have the OG and stayed with it till now I know the film was horrendous and will probably never gonna see another Ant-Man movie but I like this suit version cuz is bright and it matches Wasp’s bright colors as well as Kang they look awesome together so I want to keep it consistent it makes a cool trio.

Not a fan at all of this Paul Rudd head sculpt; not only is the likeness off but he looks depressed. But I'm still super excited to get this figure, I'll just display him with the helmet instead. What's even better, the Thunder Toys Phantom figure is now shipping, so she'll look great next to him and the other Ant-Man/Wasp figures all standing together.

Headsculpt wise, I feel that first movie head sculpt you showed looks nothing like Paul Rudd. The newest one looks the most like him. But I still get stunt double vibes. Maybe Paul Rudd visage simply can't be captured. Dorian Gray situation. Also I really want MCU Ant Man and Spider-man to have a movie together. I feel they'd be Bff's. Overall it still looks great as a suit. I think it's the most MCU looking suit but it's not afraid of the colors(looking at your Captain America removing the white stripes and downplaying the red).

Great review as always! I do think the overall suit deign is slightly too overdesigned but I have to admit, the figure has grown on me. I am gonna stick with my Antman 2 figure but I still like the look of this one.

Hot toys struggles much when doing Paul Rudd head sculpts, agreed that this guy can work better with the helmet on, but it does bother me that the head sculpt is not that good, I think this piece works better for collectors who don´t have an ant-man or have the civil war one, could be a good upgrade

Unpopular opinion: I actually think the Antman & The Wasp headsculpt is the best looking one, even more than the OG one. The smiling can be kinda jarring for some, but that might be the thing that makes him look more like himself

Yeeeah if i owned this, the head sculpt can stay in the box. And that's saying a lot because i use every head sculpt. I just wouldn't be able to do it here. The suit is nice but that's really the only thing going for it. The box art looks better 😆. I wouldn't mind owning the mini figure tho of the wasp. I like that more than the figure. Nonetheless, great review although the figure is mediocre

Its called light piping

Light piping is using translucent plastic as a window of sorts to allow light to pass through (often the top of a head) and light up eyes or other bits. Hence the term light piping. You’re piping light through a solid part to illuminate something else. Which never usually works. This is very different to that.

It's a shame the MCU Ant-man helment doesn't look like an ant. I mean, the eyes are pretty good for capturing it, but the super short pointed back antennas and nothing than capture their snappers. Idk, I think it's a missed opportunity and kind of lame when they still could've made it look cool. Also, this version of his suit is horrid. 😀

Still don't know why they haven't made a 1/4 scale Ant-Man. Would work great as a 1/6 Giant-Man. Might not sell fantastic, so maybe make it a limited release of like 300-500. I'm sure others would want that for their displays.
