Personally I like the hot toys one better, I feel like the paint apps are better and the chest is way too puffed out in the new one. In the show his chest is really flat.

I agree. It appears that they just scaled down the Galactic armory suit files. the chest piece on those files doesn't fit like the screen worn version. One dead giveaway is that the abdominal piece sticks out on the sides past the chest piece which is not how it is supposed to be. The pad and whistling birds on the left gauntlet are also way too large vs the screen used version. I do like the paint job, just wish they had used a better version of the suit.

I wanted to buy the mandalorian season 2 beskar armor hot toy but I saw how dark and matte his armor looked and I changed my mind. This custom set you bought is a lot better than what hot toys produced surprisingly.

All the armor just looks too small and too chromed out for me personally. I'm glad you have two beskar mandos so u can have one be season 1 and the other season 2 but i'm not sure many collectors will do that. I foresee a lot of people just grabbing that season 2 thigh plate and being done with it.

You could have 100% exact same effect by just spending 10 bucks on tamiya Polishing Compound Finish paste and a microfiber fabric. I did this to mine. Result-exactly the same and I even have a deeper connection to my figure now, because I put some work in. Not just buying stuff 😏

The new pieces definitely are shinier but the details are much softer compared to the Hot Toys pieces. The thigh armor is about the only piece I'd ever use ( ok maybe the knee gun ). I am looking forward to see the Jedi Robe when you get it.

The only thing I really liked about the kit is how shiny it looks, it really gives the season 2 vibes. However, the helmet and chest plate look off to me, and the visor paint application is horrible in my opinion. In short, I'm not sure this kit is worth it.

@@JustinsCollection I made a cosplay suit of this armor and had the brown flight suit. Its strange that Hot Toys had it right in the production photos and ruined it later. I think I'm going to wait for a season 2 version and skip this one. I want my figure to be as accurate as possible and match my cosplay on display. Just as long as the S2 version comes with Grogu and similar accessories like an updated hover pram.

Hi Justin, if I had to venture a guess I’d say, for cost reasons, hot toys had one flight suit produced in mass knowing they were releasing multiple versions of Mando. Probably somewhere along the line during the production of Beskar Mando they noticed the suit changed color but not necessarily the design so instead of firing the factory back up and having new brown ones made they just attempted to dye the gray ones that were already produced to brown....obviously with lackluster results. I don’t have season one or two figures in hand yet to take a look, but from the little I know about toy manufacturing that would make more sense to me rather than them separately producing brown ones only to then attempt to dye them back to gray. Anyway, love the video’s Justin....and the name!

The detail is freakin awesome! I love the shiny look to it for sure but I do prefer certain pieces from HT specifically the helmet. The visor looks better on the HT version for me personally. But this is such a cool little set to have and turn Beskar Mando into his season 2 look. Great video & Tks for sharing

The only thing I like about the custom one is the chrome finish. It's better than Hot Toys. I'm starting to be tempted to get some chrome powder stuff they sell on Amazon for nails and buff it on my armor pieces. I don't want to airbrush chrome paint on it and then have to redo the whole weathering so the powdered stuff might be good enough just to bring the shine.
