I agree. If you collect Hot Toys and want to be a completist then by all means, pay the $313 and buy the Emperor. My collection is strictly centered around Star Wars villains, so this is a must-buy but maybe your collection is not as such. There are better priced and more interesting specimens. I'd like to have a Darth Sid figure with his lightsaber. Get on that Hot Toys!

Lucky Jhagra it’s a bummer! I imagine that’s how most people wish to display theirs, but unfortunately can’t even hold it for a few hours. It’s rare for hot toys to make a mistake like that with the current quality of figures. I’ve decided I think to sell mine and maybe hold out for an episode 3 figure, based on what other characters they have upcoming.

I appreciate the review it was nice to see the detail up close. Excellent sculpting. I agree it's not worth $300 but rather than repeating that so many times I would like to know if it talks like the foot tall version that is like 1/5 the cost. Also the main accessory was the chair and you never put him in it to see how well he sits in the display that makes this unique. Also it would be nice to see the lightning effects that they include that attach to the hands acctually attached to the hands. As a side note since they put it in such a big box with all that art work on it I would like to have seen a basic space seen and a plastic window to recreate the back ground around the chair for a better recreation of the acctual scene. A flickering light running through the lightening pieces would have been nice for the price. Lastly instead of the separate stand for him alone I would have preferred a larger platform that raised the whole chair up so that it raised him higher when Darth Vader or the other characters like Luke or the guards were placed in the scene. The window, platform, space picture, voice and light up the sleeve wouldn't have been difficult for them to do and for $300 they should have thought it out a bit further

Thanks for the kind criticism, I always need to improve, and usually these hot toys never have sound, only for droids or vader sounds usually, but he comes a little short if seated proper, his feet hang off the chair like a short person, and i wouldve like to seen more for the price, but thanks again for watching!

$205 was the Royal Guard price. The $16 lower price point for the Stormtrooper is what I was commenting on in your ST video. Which makes no sense how a decked out armored figure is cheaper than one covered in a few layers of basic fabric.

I made the purchase although, I'm a big fan of Star Wars. I would have to agree with the statements. I would have to say it was the overall chair and Luke Skywalker's lightsaber that brought out not only the figure but the price as well. They could've added another head-sculpt to the figure which would've made it worth the price. Great video, happy holidays. Best in 2019

Hmm.. well I think this is a pretty nice set. I actually like the chair since its look is so iconic to Palpatine when he's sitting in it. In fact, it's probably the only reason I'd buy this set. I think the lightsaber is supposed to lay on the right side armrest like when Palpatine is sitting there taunting Luke and saying "Yoooou want thiiiiis" and patting his hand on it. As for the price, I agree with you. Sideshow/Hot Toys pricing can be hit or miss. Sometimes I feel okay about it but other times I definitely feel like I didn't get my money's worth. Mostly the latter. I really want the Legendary Scale R2-D2 but $2,000??? And it'll just be hollow plastic with metal weights glued inside like the Premium Format version to make it feel more "premium".

Another great look at a figure -thanks! The portrait is really pretty amazing with that translucent finish, it really up's the creepy factor! I wasn't hot on the scene-specific expression (that half-smile), but seeing it up close with all of the amazing detail helps sell it. Agree about the throne. It just looks like cheap toy plastic (especially the seat). I don'r recall the light bar at the top of the throne in the movie - too bad you can't just have the arm rest controls lit w/o that light bar. On the robes, visually, the different materials look really good and add a level of richness that enhances the appearance. At least they put pants on him! That was always the one thing that creeped me out on the Sideshow version - he was naked under the robe-ugh! I know you mention the outer robe feeling "cheap' - does it manipulate well to futz some good creases? Is the hemline of the robe wired too? Thanks again for the close look - still on the fence, but if I go for it, it'll probably be the regular edition.

This is a great replacement for sideshows emperor which had the short walking cane and sideshows chair, I received mine last week and the only thing I didn't like is the chair is raised a little to high as the emperor's feet barley touch the floor. If anyone's after awsome dioramas for 1/6 star wars figures, so for people who haven't seen his work check his work out on KZbin "jazz Inc" I own a few of his dios and the quality of his work is amazing and his prices are very reasonable.

I was unhappy with how Hot Toys painted the figure. The sculpt was amazing, but just comparing the promo pics and the final result, the paint app is very minimal. I know that the promo and final products are always different, but he looked just like the ROTJ Emperor. Hot Toys is always hit or miss, which causes collecting their products a challenge and hassle for us collectors sometimes.
