Phil, i ordered the purple RLC Supra 7 minutes after it went on sale to RLC members. At checkout I was told "sold out". That compelled me to look for a Supra online which led me to AliExpress and Tarmac Works, Mini GT, and all the other Asian 1/64 companies. Thanks for introducing me to the other makers.

The rig is insane. If you didn’t see my IG this things weighs in at just under 1lb 3oz. Incredible. Some of us were able to get these at $37.50 each due to Mattel’s always problematic site. I bought my 2 and then had to go back in to grab a 3rd for a friend who once again was dealing with pathetic Mattel e-commerce problems. I hope they do more with a box trailer and maybe something by Kenworth, Peterbilt, Ford 6000 or even a Volvo.

Great finds! Still watching video but love the porsche! This morning I found the first scalper I’ve ever seen in the wild. I was at my grocery store right at opening to get thanksgiving stuff before the crowds, and naturally I stumble upon the toy aisle to see any new hot wheels, and low and behold there’s a random guy there who just pulled the new case off the pallet, opened it up and started searching. Then turned to me and said “no supers in this case”. The act itself was so disgusting it honestly turned me off the hobby somewhat. No bs it was like watching an addict have a free for all in a pharmacy, and has actually made me rethink my collecting of hot wheels, and just sticking with other brands entirely. They create the constant “FOMO” that only helps to turn people this way. Add to that any order I’ve ever made on mattels’ site takes them in excess of a week to even ship, and add to that their site is overall useless during peak times.

@jjoworld You’re missing the point. I don’t care about supers in the slightest, but it looks ugly when some guy who’s probably tracked the shipment and called the store, etc. is there immediately. That’s not called a collector, it’s called an addict.

I laugh when I see those guys too. It frightened me at first. But sometimes I'm the guy who gets first dibs. I'm there to collect my favorite castings at least one and maybe a duplicate but I don't clean them out and I certainly don't intend to resell. Supers are the only castings if I'm lucky enough to find I'll pick up to use for trading.

I have not returned a SINGLE thing. And any claims I have had with cars, I've other gotten my money back or an EXTRA car sent back to me!

Thank you for opening those for us. I love all the brands. I believe that the competition has forced Hot Wheels to improve their game. I placed a Mini GT Lambo Huracan ag. a Hot wheels Jay Leno’s Garage Lambo Countach and the Mini Gt had way better paint. However, when I put my Hot Wheels copper finished McLaren against the other two, the McLaren is undoubtedly No. 1. More expensive but still the best paint job anywhere! When Hot Wheels uses that killer spectraflame it is the first car your eyes will go to in any car display.

I'm actually with you on the blue 959. I never was a big fan of all black wheels either. I know they already used chrome or silver, but if they used those colors, that blue spectraflame would just sing. At least a gunmetal grey. Very nice blue on that car though.

HOT Wheels are more for the u.s market collectors, the 1/64 also greenlight, autoworld m2. tarmac, mini gt, are more for europe ,japan, china, dont forget if u check other scales, 1/43, 1/18 etc, hot wheels doesnt even exist compared with autoart,bbr, gt spirit ,cmc etc, etc although they did do awesome with the ferrari licence by making great elite f1 ferrari models which i have all of them.

1:18 scale cars are suffering big time with huge quality issues. Autoart, gmp are not as they used to be alot of problems. Plus the 1:18 market is not as big as the 1:64 now. Believe me I know I work in a diecast store and we carry everything.

I really hate to be "that guy" but your using a term that is incorrect. For all the info you've given me let me give back a little to you. Cab Over is short hand for Cab Over Engine, meaning the cab where the driver sits is over the engine not behind like these. Cab Overs were the flat nosed semis (sem-eyes) you used to see more often in the 70s and 80s and are currently the tractor style of choice in Europe and other continents for their more compact size. Compact being a relative term here. Tractor, Truck, Semi (sem-eye) but the one thing those trucks aren't is Cab Overs.

Conventional vs cab over. Right? When I first started building and collecting plastic model kit rigs in the 70s I was not a fan of the cab over even if a Kenworth (my favorite brand). I still don’t think I’m much of a fan. A conventional cab just looks mean like it will crush you while a cab over always looks to me like it will lose it balance and tumble over forward like a child doing a somersault. 😂
