I remember playing a demo for this game on the volcano track when I was about 5 years old. I didn’t know what I was doing but I loved it. I recently wanted to find this game again but I couldn’t remember what it was called, and I’m so glad I finally found it. Nostalgia rush.

I swear I remember playing this but somehow it was higher quality... Maybe the monitor i used for it had massive saturation. I definately remember spiked wheels at one point. Could I be thinking of a different game? I know I played the first level of this game, but it seems less impressive than it did when I was younger. I'm confused...

there should be a general principle that kids are often less whiny than adults when it comes to games; if you played the game after 13 years of age you'll probably say "wow these controls are terrible, that or the maps have too many tight turns for its scheme." or "yeah these laps are WAY too long" meanwhile, if you ask the kids who played it, they'll say "DUDE THAT'S AWESOME I LOVE HOTWHEELS" and then proceed to spend 10 minutes following the mixer truck at construction site.

Could you please share your video settings files? (I believe these are 'player.dat' and 'settings.dat' located in game folder - by default 'Program files (x86)/THQ/Hot Wheels/Mechanix' or something like that) I can't access graphics options from main menu and the game runs in ultra low resolution with extremely low draw distance..
