I remember playing one hot wheels game for the ps1, you collected mistery cars on the tracks and everything, good times. This new game seems legit fun, but it seems it has hell of a rubberbanding AI "difficulty", I guess the game no matter how shitty or well you drive, it will force this "photofinish" ends every race

I heard it's not rubberbanding per se, but they removing stat limiters in extreme which ig leads to rubberbanding so ignore my point, hence the difficulty spike in extreme and hard. Also everything is max upgraded

Yep, especially with this handling, it'll be similar to mario kart I just miss Goal missions point like in HW Beat That. Where you should achieve it by completing mission so that you can unlock a new car. Bit effort to do but it was worth to play.

Well, I'm kinda worried about that. From what it seems, this game already looks focus on some real racing feel, where it's only you, opponents, and tracks, and may skilled driver wins. Sometimes adding a power ups wasn't always a solution, even for something like this, for example HW World Race and Stunt Track Challenge for PS2 also doesn't have power ups

I see a lot of potential in here, but as with MANY games released on Unreal Engine, the devs don't really go that deep into refining mechanics and are more worried into creating a visual ressembleance to a certain aspect - in this case, immersive hot wheels racing

I don't know about you, but with the somewhat narrow guardrailed rollercoaster trackdesign, how heavily it relies on boosting and careful track positionning with drifts and boosts/obstacles to roll on/avoid, and the insane and frankly unfair way it rubberbands, it gives me *mad* F-Zero vibes...

It would be cool if you were going to get the same car, the game would automatically give you a different wrap for the car, because usually HOTWHEELS creates different variants/paintjob of the same car. And if they added free roam, imagine free roam on the map, that would be so cool! All the orange track, loops and places to explore! It would also be nice if they added ai to free roam if they actually did add free roam.
