+Hot Wheels CostaRica Thank you very much, what a great compliment! The Super Vans are also among my favorite vintage castings. Now if only I could get the Toy Fair vans from 1975.... but alas they are far too expensive and rare.

Great video. I managed to get the 62 KGW Radio variation at the latest LA convention, mint in baggie with blue FC / H card, expensive but worth it. At the other end of price span, I also scored a good-looking fuchsia pink variation, made in Thailand, with "Super Van" on sides for USD 2. One of my favourite castings.
@wtffor6 жыл бұрын
Great finds you got there, I bet that pink Super Van would fetch a good dollar on ebay, I've never seen one before!

Thanks. Pink Van is a 2011 variation from the Hot Ones series. Comes with a black interior, unpainted metal base and Blackwalls. Pretty neat for a recent variation.

That purple one with the bicycle on it has lots of things going for it: It is the most beautiful of the supervans, with very original color and an amazing deco (there is a bike on it fgs!). Just stands out of the bunch so incredibly. The desirability of that one would command high price regardless of rarity.

Fantastic video! I'm sure this took some serious effort to make. As always, I appreciate your wealth of knowledge. Do you collect the "side marker/no side maker" variations as well?
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+VeeDub As I understand it the side marker light variation was on the black Redline super vans, yellow and white Paramedics, and purple Super Vans... but I find that those variations are just too expensive to collect since from more then a foot away you couldn't tell if it had side marker lights or not. I probably should have mentioned the lights for historical sake, but I don't collect that variations so it was overlooked in this video. Good mention though, I'm glad you brought it up!

Excellent video - as mentioned earlier in my comments they should have a Hot Wheel Super Collector award and one for a Hot Wheel Historian (researcher) because you deserve it. I realize these videos take time to produce but have you done one on Mighty Mavericks? If not could you do one on the Mighty Maverick? I have a few of them but the spoilers look different. And I don't know if they are original. I've been researching but your comments are valuable to this group. Thank you for your time and video.
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+Bobby Millionaire A Super Collector award, imagine the trophy that could accompany such a thing! That'd be great! I will do one on the Mighty Mavericks, although I don't have many as most of the originals were pre-1973 spectraflame cars... I have all of the ones released 1974 and on but that's not many. I will none-the-less get to this video!

I got all my motocross super vans (of which i have 3) for under $20! People don;t know what they have and I swoop in and buy them. I dunno how other collectors miss the auctions, but I usually have little to know competition. The last one I got, I got as a bundle with two other super vans for $5 total! It has no decal and a bit of yellow paint on the hood from a kid's paintbrush, so maybe people thought it was a repainted ambulance. But my first one I got for $30 and the 2nd to last for $14. They aren't mint, but aren't heaps either. Still legible and displayable.
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+MrWolfSnack Those are some great scores on the Super Vans you got, no doubt about it. Although the price does jump dramatically between vintage Hot Wheels in good condition and mint condition. A car with 30 or so small chips on it and minimal other wear (other wise good condition) will usually sell for 20% or less of the same vehicle in mint condition, showing no chips and no wear.

Great video! I noticed you didn't mention the 'side marker' variations, is just too many variations to list?
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+reeceracing123 Actually it does double the variation count for the black redline super vans, yellow and white Paramedics, and purple Super Vans... but I find that those variations are just too expensive to collect since from more then a foot away you couldn't tell if it had side marker lights or not. I probably should have mentioned the lights for historical sake, but I don't collect that variations so it was overlooked in this video. Good mention though, I'm glad you brought it up!

@colinsdiecast164customs10 ай бұрын
Hi Wtffor and Happy New Year, I had an amazing stroke of luck today at a charity shop, I found a beat up Toys r us Super van, the decals are mostly gone, but you can still tell its the real deal, I never expected to find one in the UK, as I know how hard they are to find in the US. How much would a beat up one be worth?, all the wheels are there and the glass is intact, its chipped, but not the worst I have seen. I did not know what it was when I bought it, I just bought it, because it was all metal, what a good start to the year.
@wtffor10 ай бұрын
That is a very cool and rare find, one in a million I am sure! Even in tough condition, those rare old Hot Wheels have some value as long as you can make out some of the tampo's identifying the model. Best bet if you want to sell it is put it on Ebay with a good description and pictures, a low starting bid (maybe $20?) and see where it goes by the end of the listing time! Otherwise, it is quite hard to say what the van will be worth. Happy New Year!
@colinsdiecast164customs10 ай бұрын
@@wtffor Thanks for the info on the model and I have sent some pics to your email address, f you would like to see the van and share your opinion on it. I have cleaned it thoroughly and shinned the metal parts, just make the most of whats left, but I am keen to add a replacement decal to it, to get the full effect of the Geoffrey van.
@colinsdiecast164customs10 ай бұрын
@@wtfforLike you, I dont collect diecast to sell it, but I appreciate the advice, about $20 is a fair starting point, but I would not sell it, but I would like to put a new decal set on it,

PS: In your past videos on these, didn't you talk about the blinker light variations too?
@wtffor9 жыл бұрын
+MrWolfSnack I did, but I chose not to this time since I am not actively collecting that variation, and most collectors probably won't either. These vans are just too expensive in mint condition to be buying two of each of them just for the signal light variation. Also, both variations seem to be equally populated, not one more rare then the other, and there is minimal published information that I have found with regards to the variation. Since I have so little info on it I chose not to talk about it as well.
