elect fences are fun .. we were putting wife's horse Merry into a adjusistment paddock for a holiday Merry was so excited kicked up her heels wife flung me out of range of being double barreled ... right into the elec fence ... was enlightening

JH please check with your tank supplier, I think that earth bolt on the tank will be bolted to a buried sacrificial anode to prevent corrosion in the steel of the tank. Stray current from the earth may end up corroding the tank. Electric fence earth pegs should be galvanised or stainless steel, avoid dis-similar metals for the electrolysis corrosion potential
