Puking Rainbows I was thinking this bro. But at the same time I feel like if Steez was still alive Joey would've went in a different direction. Idk Steez state of mind and thinking was on a cosmic level, he saw shit universally and not centralized societally persay, if you get what I'm saying. Joey is very focused on the problems here in the US and the larger issues that represent them, but I feel like Steez would push towards looking bigger scale
@Will-bn9km4 жыл бұрын
@@bdpchamp Steez saw PE more as a movement and a unit, revolutionaries on the music front as well as opening peoples perception on reality. I feel like in his final days, maybe some thoughts were directed to the fact that maybe he couldn't achieve this, or felt that maybe the Pros didnt feel as strongly as he did on it.

@brandonleon94577 жыл бұрын
+younggun2314 definitely not a better artist, but lyrically he is, I highly doubt he meant any disrespect...
@TheMrSlogold7 жыл бұрын
@younggun2314 I hate when Joey gets bashed just because people like yourself don't know the meaning of the term 'lyrical' in hiphop. It's a common misconception to think that it means the overall meaning and the message of the lyrics, but it doesn't. When someone is lyrical, it means that they're advanced in the technical aspects of rapping, such as using multis and double entendres etc. In that way Joey is quite far ahead of Pac (also mine and Joey's favorite rapper of all time), who never really was into that kind of lyricism, and instead relied on his message and delivery. Stay educated, bless!
@StonerHAS7 жыл бұрын
When 2Pac first came out he was trying all that lyrical shit & playing with flows, then he woke up. Pac dumbed down his lyrics so they could have more of an impact and reach more people. The thing that made Pac the greatest was giving you a message and telling you what's real so you can feel it. Imagine if he gave people hella triple entendres and everything like these over "lyrical" rappers do. He would just be another backpack rapper that wouldn't be as big as he was. Not taking anything away from the lyrically skilled rappers, but there's a reason why the most skilled rappers don't get the most shine. As Jay Z said "If skills sold, truth be told, I'd probably be lyrically Talib Kweli Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense But I did 5 mill' - I ain't been rhyming like Common since"

bigjayking24 1999 is a better overall project. That has to go down as one of the best mixtapes of all time. Summer Knights just has a better vibe to it. cant really explain. With Unorthodox , My Yout , Amethyst Rockstar its all different.
@josephscarmuzza81877 жыл бұрын
thats a really good questions. yo i think 1999 has plenty of completely classic, full, amazing songs like waves, hard knock, righteous minds, fromdatombs. But summer knights has some songs with really cool feels like hilary swank and my yout and unorthodox. Overall i think 1999 is better but its really fun to listen to summer knights and get that different perspective on joey. real shit tho, most of joey's songs from hits roots are great.

Ness you either bugging, don't really study hip hop, or don't really listen to Joey music if you can't admit Joey got better Bars than Pac. This interview kind of blew me being the fact if Joey your homie then headlines shouldn't be able to dictate how you feel about him. I only met Joey once so I don't know him on a personal level but listen to his interviews and music I know he's not a person to just be talking out his ass so when headlines came out I did my research before jumping to a conclusion and I 100% agreed and understood where he was coming from.

I find it funny how some people act like Pac was NEVER lyrical. He could give you that if he wanted to but Pac was straight forward with his message. He's not the most lyrical bar for bar but he could do all of that and more. He was a complete artist. Joey saying he could flame Pac bar for bar I don't have any problem with, I understand being someone who loves hip-hop and knowing the competition so anybody mad at him for that is a dick head. When I was on an airplane & we were close to landing I thought "wow everything seems so small from up here, but it's big when I'm on the ground." & then it made me realize we really are a small part of the universe, but even so each of us collectively play a big part. You really have to step outside yourself & realize this shit is bigger than you!
