***** In that case, how do you know how real he is based off of some public appearances you speak of? How personal were the encounters? What were the situations? Was he on drugs? I could go on...There are so many factors that can disprove your comment about him... Trying to figure out how real he is through an interview is as futile as seeing it through your words. You truly dont know him and you know it so stfu.

He just took and went along with what the universe gave him. if he's happy then why try to say things that ain't true? He cares for his city. He cares for his daughter. He's got a new album popping, I think he's one happy guy.

Christopher Parks Do your fuckin' homework. Ain't shit missing from Hip-Hop. Artists like Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Cage, R.A. Rugged Man, Time Machine, C Rayz Walz, Eyedea, dem Atlas, Grieves, Murs, and a million other emcees have done this since FOREVER and have never stopped. Before this tool even decided he wanted to rap. The fucker wants to be a rock star but he can't sing for shit, so settled for rap. Just because your ass doesn't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist. Fuckin' tool.

And the only one on that list that made any type of real mark not some spiritual miracle whip shit is murs!!!!

Christopher Parks So we'll just ignore the impact RSE had on indie Hip-Hop and just ignore that Atmosphere is headlining Soundset 2015 over J Cole, Ice Cube, Big Sean, Ludacris, Vic Mensa, Dilated Peoples, Logic and Vince Staples. And we'll also forgot that Brother Ali is on the same card and the fact that he's travelling the world, just got back from Mexico. And we'll forget everything Cage did with Shia Lebouf and with Def Jux. Since you know Def Jux was founded by El-P who's been doing this same shit for 20 years plus and who just dropped Rolling Stones Hip-Hop album of the year with Run The Jewels 2 with Killer Mike. We'll forgot the amazing album RA dropped with features from greats like Talib and Masta Ace. We'll forget that C Rayz Walz is a NY legend. Matter of fact, I believe MGK founded Hip-Hop.
@seandaily999 жыл бұрын
Christopher Parks And with that comment you're pretty much saying that you only fuck with music and artists that are popular, because you need that acceptance to feel good about the art. We live in a WORLD that is HUGE, just because you don't fuck with certain artists, doesn't mean they aren't out there and have dedicated fans all over the world. Stop being ignorant. Your initial comment was ignorant, man up and say it.

MGK is about the most real artist with his own style that I have seen in a long time. Who writes about real shit. It really hits home because he is so real. And does not need to go main stream for a fan base. He got his fans on his own just from being so real and true to his fans. Who I actually think he cares about. I fell in love with his music and style from the first song. He had me at hello. Lol There will never be any one like him. I tell my 16 year old son hey yo, you need to check this guy out. Honestly I don't think his fans would mind one single bit if he released mainstream (Corney shit in hie eyes) then released like a mixtape every year with the shit the fans really want to hear, I think you can go do your side shit, that the mainstream will like, then return back to home with a mixtape for your fans, I don't think your true true fans would mind if you pursued other avenues so you can be more financially secure. Your fans have to understand one thing, If you don't make money, you can't continue releasing music for them, that's basically what it comes down to. Studio time is not free. Also I don't think your fans would want future fans that really need you to be deprived of you and your help strictly because they don't know about you, you have to become mainstream and maybe do a little Corney shit to be able to show yourself to the masses so they can become fans, if that makes sense.

It doesn't hurt to diversify yourself. Like Mariah Carey tried to be more R&B pop when it's like her greatest albums will and always be those iconic Christmas songs. When you're great you're great. There's no denying talent. Sometimes when people change revenues they can still be talented but sound different. I'm not going to dismiss an artists work from before just because they sold out.

To all the haters saying mgk is depressed. You do know your perception of someone else is truly your own perception of yourself. He speaks from his heart. Whats wrong with that? No one knows what fame brings, good and bad. Personally I feel I would fucking hate it. Trying to upkeep a reputation that the public so eagerly expects of you.Fuck that. I get the impression, yes mgk is fed up of the bullshit associated with fame.That does not mean he is depressed. From studying his music, his life and watching all relevant footage regards him (theres shitloads btw) mgk is truly is humorous, doesnt suffer fools lightly, enjoys what normal a life he has left and is incredibly patriotic when it comes to his home ground. He has no interest in trying to impress the higher archy within the music industry and thats what I love about him. Let the ass lickers run up there labels asses, distort their true personality for media recognition and at the end of all that lose themselves to "fame".

How can you guys sit there and talk down on a rapper who has done nothing but out music out for his fans. You're judging Kells like you judge all of the Mainstream Rappers. He will never be Mainstream and he wants that. Most Mainstream artists are washed up Sellouts. With that being said Kells promised his fans from the beginning that he wouldn't change. Change is important. Never turn down being fed because you are worried what the next man thinks about you. If the move makes sense to you,do it. His legacy won't be shit 10 years from now. I can never knock on someone for they're hustle but this dude made himself a martyr. You put Cleveland on your back and wanted a million thank you's. He put out this persona and no one really bit (except his white fans for the most part). Claims not to care about fame but dates a Kardashian-esk type girl. I'm not saying this dude isn't being himself but I think he tried too hard in the end. The thing is if you want to claim that you're from the streets then you know that you have to carry tough skin. Not becoming more famous I think made him depressed and then being black balled by the industry didn't help. This reminds me of when Avrile Lavigne came out. Pretended to be punk but then it backfired. Be humble kid. Can't get anywhere by feeling sorry for yourself

No Ebro, artists don't have to self censor in fear of their art manifesting into a real life murder. Art is art no matter which way you slice it. These men you mention, BIG, PAC, CHINX, were all adults and only responsible for their families and themselves. Hip Hop has a very unique culture surrounding it. For whatever reason the fans of hip hop expect the artists to be the self embodiment of their music. This not only limits the artists creative capacity, but also puts these guys in a box, as well as in situations where they're doing things they're not comfortable with just to please fans or the media to appear "real". Statistically black children grow up without fathers in the inner city way too often. These kids don't have strong role models to look up to. Ebro wants to put the responsibility on the artist now instead of the parents of the children. Artists aren't always signing up to be your child's role model. The division of black families in America has been going on since I was little. Where I live , Chicago, the government would actually refuse welfare checks to families where the father lived in the house. Only single black women were eligible for welfare. This would encourage black women to break their family apart with the full understanding that it meant more income for her. However, with all of that being said, I do agree it would be a good idea for somebody like Minister Farrakhan or another strong black role model to strengthen family values among black families in America. These kids need their fathers as role models. We are so many generations into this mess that a lot of the fathers today are also victims of the same injustice. I don't know how we can break the cycle. I don't pretend to have all the answers. The only thing i can positively tell you is....It's not an artists responsibility to be your child's role model. If an artists wants to be a role model that's their choice, however, we can't crown random strangers role models for our children. That's a cop out. And we shouldn't blame murder on hip hop artistry. This is the same thing that happened with the white kids that shot up the school in columbine. Frail old white news anchors were blaming it on Marlyn Manson and other Heavy Metal acts claiming they need to take responsibility. Ebro sounds like one of those guys in this interview.

that would be a nope on Marisa being a personality of any caliber! she has no personality or charisma to be on the radio.

it's like that song by j.cole love yourz right. he kinda talked about how's there's beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success. that's true for so many artists. I really like though how truthful he is. how a person who is in a spotlight can show vulnerability and be truthful you know. he's real I like that
