I love your foundation round ups! You are correct however in stating the Chanel velvet does not working for very dry skin...it looked awful on me no matter what I did. However, I LOVE the new IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation. Incredibly natural looking! On my super dry 61 year old skin it has a satin, skin like finish. To give it more luminosity, I use the Charlotte Tillbury Hollywood Flawless Filter as a primer or even a little mixed in and I can get a gorgeous luminous glow with the IT Foundation. My other HG include Georgio Armani Luminous Silk and the L"real Pro Glow. Both are beautifully radiant on my very mature, very dry skin. I'm super interested in the Estee Lauder and the Rare Beauty foundations that you mentioned. Thanks for always posting such detailed foundation reviews!

I love that you offer proof and in bright sunlight, no less! I have used Estée Lauder for decades. Light double wear has been my favorite for the last few years. Recently tried another foundation that is getting Beautiful reviews and after wearing it a few disappointing times, I’m back to light double wear. There is just such a healthy youthful look that I get from Estée Lauder products. I’m always on the look out for something better, but I always go back to Estée.

I believe you are the only one who shows what each of these foundations looks in natural and strong sun light! Thank you so much for this, as foundation looks much different outdoors in natural light and, indeed, in strong sun light than it does indoors in controlled 'studio' lighting. I'm in my thirties but I prefer your channel for such advice, as does my mum (late 60s).

No. Exact opposite. My skin has never looked better. Sorry if that sounded like I'm gloating - I'm not. Co-vid coincided with me starting a proper skincare regimen at 50 for the first time in my life. And glad I did. I got to be a bit experimental during lockdown too and dip my toe into stronger actives when I didn't care if there was down time as I wasn't going anywhere anyway. But my teenage daughter's skin has taken a hit. Badly. She has KP and mild breakouts normally. We've just had months of continuous breakouts at this stage.

@Sweet Serenity I'm doing intermittent fasting for years. Haven't lost a pound. Mind you I'm almost bald now (female, 50) and thyroid tests showed underactive thyroid. GP did second test and came back normal and he REFUSES to do another test. Meanwhile my hair is falling out, I could sleep all day (but not at night) my heartbeat is irregular and my kidney's are starting to fail.

The Chanel is still my Holy Grail for my oily T-zone at 55. Seriously, I thought that I'd "grow out of that" by now...nope! I tried the L'oreal, but didn't like it, partly, because I spent too much on trying to find the right color match. I do find myself grabbing Lancome's Dual Finish Powder Foundation the most, since I have normal to oily skin. Thanks for the great reviews!

I watched a couple of your videos about skin care, and I was disappointed that you didn't talk about any fragrance-free products. I have read that whenever you see "fragrance" as one of the ingredients, it means there are about 31 chemicals in the fragrances. Also, after having to have my desk moved in the late 80's because of someone wearing something highly fragranced, I did some research, and I found out that someone discovered that if you add pthalates to perfume, it makes it last longer. One time, I bought some Cover Girl blush and lo and behold, it had fragrance in it! I could not believe it! Our bodies are so over-fragranced these days, so I think that you would be doing a great service by doing some research about fragrance, and most of all, letting those of us who are chemically sensitive, know which fragrance-free products work well. I LOVE the Stila foundation, but it is being discontinued, which is why it is on sale at Nordstrom 😩 Ulta and Sephora no longer carry it 😭 I’ve switched to the Dior Face and Body and the It Your Skin But Better. My “fancy’ foundation is the Chanel Ultra le Teint - I would use the Velvet but I can’t do anything with chemical sunscreen. Thanks, as always, for another great review!!

I’m adding one to the list! Rodan + Fields Radiant Defense. It’s a hybrid between skincare, foundation and tinted moisturizer. I’ve used it for 2 years, and I can’t go back to foundations! This product actually improves your skin. I may try the Stila one , however 😉

Stila Hide & Chic Foundation is discontinued line, Ulta had sale couple of months ago for $9.95, so check your local Ulta, if they have any left. Also, the primer & some other products from (powder pump, bronzer, blush) this line can be found in Marshals. Maybe they are repackaging, maybe the whole line is discontinued, but Ulta's salesperson told me that they are discontinuing it altogether.

I got 💖Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh yesterday and I cannot be happier! It is perfect for combo skin that gives you a bit skin like glow but not overly shine, and it’s OIL FREE! While Stay-in-place is too matte for me, and Futurist is overly hydrated in humid hot area, Water Fresh is something in between. The cons are the pump not included with the foundation, and the shade range is not enough for everyone. Can you review this too? Thank you so much! I always refer your videos when I’m hunting for skincare and makeup products! 💖

Thank you for your video. I love pictures in natural sunlight and all the closeups. I am wondering whether you have tried some of the clean, natural foundations and serums that are available now. For instance a company I adore and is probably the purest of all (no chemicals at all) is Evanhealy and they are making a "Tinted Oil Serum Foundation" and I was curious if you ever tried it and what was your opinion. Also 2 other clean companies, not as pure as Evanhealy but still much cleaner than others are Ilia Beauty and Jane Iredale. They have several foundations and tinted serums and I am curious if you tested any of them. They are all supposed to be partly skincare anti-aging products and partly makeup. The Chanel foundation is my holy grail in the summer but it looks awful on me once the cold weather hits. Tried the Ester Lauder based on your recco and I’m so happy with it. I also just bought the Dr. Dennis Gross LED face mask during the Sephora sale, I know you’re trying that now as well- can’t wait to see your review. I actually think the blue light has already helped my sebaceous hyperplasia acne/texture which literally nothing has ever worked on that before. I have felt L'oreal foundations have worked well for my skin for years. I really feel the L'oreal infallible pro glow has a much superior natural look to true match. True match was just meh. I don't think I get a real 24 hrs out of pro glow but I do get nice wear out if it. My days are long and tough on make up, so any long wear natural look is a bonus.

You have good skin without makeup though Angie! where you get the "crypt keeper" idea I can't understand. You're beautiful without makeup and could get away with just a tinted SPF to cover any redness or imperfections then you wouldn't have to even think about foundation, and your skin could breathe on hot sunny days or when you take exercise. I wear Korean sunscreen Purito SPF 50 on my face then apply a tinted SPF on top but only on areas of redness-nose and chin. That way my skin looks bare and youthful all day every day-nothing to settle into wrinkles or clog pores, or oxidise or wear off unevenly.

Could you do a video on how to pick the right shade you need for foundation? They always show testing it on your hand but my hand and face and neck are all different colors. Warm or cool tones? I have tried multiple shades of the IT foundation. I like how it wears on my skin but I need cool shades (my skin tone is slightly pink) and both the cool and neutral shades have way too much yellow. I was very disappointed. I went back to the Estee Lauder whose cool shades are exactly that.

EL Futurist in fresco is too luminous, oily and shiny on me while EL Perfectionist in fresco is not. Same company, same shade but much different on my skin. I do have an oily T-zone, but powder makes little lasting difference with Futurist, and I don’t need powder with Perfectionist.

Hi Angie - I’m older than you but I love your videos and watch them often. My big question today is about Bare Minerals vs Liquid foundation. I watched a video of yours from 7 years ago (forever ago!) where you were reviewing powder foundations snd you loved the Bare Minerals the best at the time. I use BM and switched over to it when I was about your age from liquid foundation because they were basically awful, at least the drug store brands were. I’m 63 and have decent skin for my age but . . . I started using BM because it’s light, doesn’t settle into my wrinkles and looks and feels natural. However, lately, my under eye area is looking worse and the BM seems to accentuate that. I’m wondering if it’s time for me to transition to a high end brand of liquid foundation again now that they’ve changed for the better. I have dry skin, a little redness around my nose, some uneven pigmentation, fine lines and enlarged pores on my nose and chin. I absolutely prefer matte skin and don’t like anything heavy. Any recommendations?

I have a quick question I know you get so many . I’m on your amazon store and need to get a vitamin C serum. You have TruSkin as well as timeless skin care. Which one would recommend as the most gentile? I just started using tretinoin .025 and don’t want anything that will cause irritation but I do want something that has enough of the important ingredients in it to show a difference.
