CBC play the Eagles. What's happened to Led Zeppelin ? Let the Led out, guys. Seriously, Do most of the people know the deeper meaning of the song California? I give you guys some hints: 1. What's so special about Hotel in California ? 2. Why " Hotel California, you can check out any time but you cannot leave " ? 3. Why " In the master chamber. They gather for the feast . They stab them with steely knives but they cannot kill the beast ? Alright, I give you the real meaning of the Hotel California song that's written by Don Henley. The song is not about the hotel in California. It's about the Drug Rehab Center for the celebrities in Hollywood, Ca. back in the 70s. Drugs addiction is hard to recover without relapsing. That's why " you can stab the LSD, Cocaine...beast with steely night but you cannot kill the beats of drugs addiction. Drug rehab center are free to check out anytime but the dug addiction will not easily leave the drug addicts ' mind.

One like for Andrew The song was originally written by Don Felder. Don Henly and Glenn Frey just added the lyrics. Henley gave different interpretations from time to time. It was not just about drugs addiction but mainly about the decadence, corruption, greed, arrogance and drugs of the high life of Southern California, signified by the album cover photo of the Beverly Hills Hotel. Most recently Don Henley said the song was merely about the loss of the innocence. They used the term "Steely knives" as a payback to Steely Dan, since Dan mentioned the Eagles in one of his songs. By the way, I believe it was "GET the Led out".

@@linhp3123 Okay. That's what Don Henley said but the "Warm smell of colitas Rising up through the air." Colitas, "little tails" in Spanish; in Mexican slang it refers to buds of the cannabis (marijuana) plant.
