Actually if you're going to be picky it's both. The verses are a half time dub feel (i.e. reggae) while the intro and chorus have that double time horn driven sound indicative of ska.

Meh would say that the refrains are Third Wave Ska (Punk) and the strophes are First Wave Ska. And offbeat (bass on 1, snare on 3) is also used in Ska music, well it was first used in Ska then in Reggae ^^

Channel Islands Univ near me is the original Hotel Ca. It used to be Camarillo State Hosp. The Eagles saw it's ominous presence and wrote about it. I have been there..it is haunted. I have seen and heard things....don't care to visit again.
