Impressive reception hall with pleasant and desirous to help receptionists , clean and decent size room with all the equipment's in good shape. The building which for sure dates from the times Kazakhstan was part of USSR needs a refreshment as well the room painting. The breakfast with plenty of choices, but not excellent as is supposed to be at a four stars hotel. The hotel is located just fife minutes away from the cable car to Kok Tobe park which offers a nice view of the town and several attractions especially for the visitors accompanied by kids. Opposite the hotel is a a bus station. With bus no 12 ( ticket price 150 tenge) the ones interested can go at the Medeu mountain resort and from there with cable car (or ecological minibuses when the cable car do not function ) to Shymbulak sky resort. 15 min walk to the modernized Almaty center. Due to the close location of a metro station ( ticket 80 tenge ) very easy to reach majority of the town attractions. More tourist info the interested ones can get from a tourist info center located close to the hotel
The four-star 26-storey hotel "Kazakhstan" is located in a picturesque location of Almaty. The building was erected in 1977. It is constructed to stand an earthquake that measures 9.0 on the Richter scale. It is a famous landmark all over Almaty, and serves as a symbol of the city. It is also the eighth-tallest building in all Kazakhstan.
