In terms of our experience in Sal, we were unfortunately followed by a local man on a walk from the hotel to the local town of Santa Maria. It's highly likely that he was about to attempt to steal our camera or attack us, so we had to flee and turn off the device. Other parts of Sal were poverty stricken, so although the island is absolutely stunning and beautiful, and the hotel is beautiful, keep your wits about you when travelling offsite, as it is not as safe as advertised.

We’re going back in November last there 2 yrs ago loved it is the Irish bar still on the seafront best place to swim is near the pier at Santa Maria it’s a deep shelf beach near the hotel with rip tides and large waves.

Can't say I enjoyed it yes the was hotel fantastic but just to busy, and the main town was just set up for tourists, sorry not for us, back to the azores next year ❤️

Love this video, Thinking of going around march/April next year, A cpuple of questions! What month did you go there cause it looks nice and quiet? What kind of temperature was it? What would you rate the resort out of 10?

Thank you so much. We travelled to Sal in May 2024, it was perfect in terms of guests we didn't feel like it was over run. The hotel is very large and has a lot of space. It was averaging about 26 degrees whilst we were there and I'd give the resort 8 out of 10. We couldn't find many faults, other than the snack bars overcooking the food slightly. The complex itself is lovely, but do be careful to avoid walking to the local town if it's quiet on the roads, since there is some petty crime.

@@TravelTurtles That’s why a lawsuit has recently been filed on behalf of over 1000 tourists who suffered stomach ailments in the past three years. Sadly, I just read this in the Cape Verdean news. I’m Cape Verdean and want all tourists visiting CV to have a memorable time; I’ve watched many videos from different vacationers and like them; I’m planning on visiting Sal, since I love the beach. I don’t have any relatives in CV: we’re all in the US or Europe. I’m curious to see the employees ‘reactions when they discover that I can communicate with them in either Crioulo or Portuguese.

@@Wolff13 been twice no ailments eat same food only different thing we do is don’t eat airline food and and keep sanitising hands with wipes on aircraft going back in 5 weeks yehaaa❤️ can’t wait
