Holly, I just finished decopage on some tin cans and I found that if you dip your paper image into some water just a bit, around the image you can tear off the paper to get a raggade edge, it makes for a nice smooth paper image when applied with the modpodge.

I love your bunny! I have been burning the edges of paper crafts for years. I made a little sign using that technique last week. Also, if you haven’t heard already, adding a little water to the paint before speckling makes it better. I do my speckling with a toothbrush and inside a box. It is definitely a messy job, but looks great.😊💛

Thank you! Check out my Seriously Free DIY’s series which I will try to publish as often as I can think of them. There’s a few coming up for fall soon. You also might find quite a few crafts in my farmhouse cutie series you can do too. Unfortunately 90% of my audience is in the USA and they are demanding more DT content, so many of my videos will be Dollar Tree because this is also the cheapest place to buy craft supplies. However please also check out my video on how to make a fake wood plank. You can pretty much substitute any dollar tree sign this way. I just bought a 4‘ x 11‘ 1/8” plywood for $11 and I figured out I could make 41 DT signs from that! So check out how much your one 1/8 inch plywood is well and you can play along. I think you just can’t go into conventional craft stores in Australia or you will go broke. You’d be surprised how many things around your house that you will throwaway would make amazing crafts if you have some scrap wood for the rest of it. I have a friend in Australia that says the wood yards also have free wood that they give away that they would normally throw away! Most of the other decorations you can find copy cats in thrift stores or garage/yard sales in Australia, you might call them charity shops or maybe car boot/trunk sales?. I use a lot of material from garage sale clothing that I get for $1! You can do this girl! Lol! Thank you for stopping by! If I get more international friends I will post more non-Dollar Tree crafting videos. Much love to you!

Hi there, I’ve been looking for some really inexpensive but cute Easter/spring crafts and after watching several of your you tube videos, I’ve found just the ones I would like in my home. Love the little bunny in a crate. I have not been a big craft person but your crafts are so frugal and definitely decor worthy according to my more minimal and traditional tastes. Thank you. I will be trying at least two of your Easter crafts this weekend and your ideas will be sitting on my side board for grandkids to see and enjoy. Thank you again. Hope you have a healthy and enjoyable Easter and Spring season.

Really really cute. I've been up mixed media artist since I was a teenager and you probably know this tip but I thought I would share. When you're putting something on before you Modge Podge it lightly wet the edges and tear the paper. It comes very cohesive with what you're attaching it to. And I wanted to ask you something. When you make beads and you don't use the oven dry and they turn out so light could you put coffee water and when you make them or a little bit of stain what do you think then the clay would turn out darker
@HotHumblePie
@HotHumblePie 4 жыл бұрын
The air dry recipe uses an entirely different set of ingredients. The first recipe and the one I made in the vid requires an oven or dehydrator to dry out the moisture. You have to be careful what you add into the mix, because it will change the dough's ability to harden properly. I think dry ingredients like cocoa, cinnamon are okay. Someone suggested sugar free Koolaide, which might also work if you add it to the water. The safest way to tint them would be food coloring, but the colors come out very light. The best way to get rich colors is to just paint them with acrylic paints. Thanks for watching my friend! xox

One thing I will tell you about crafts, do not use one of those retractable Bic pencils, the ones you click to get the lead out. They leave grooves and marks through your project, and may damage your computer screen. Just use an old school number 2 yellow pencil. It is softer to work with. I would buy quality ones, like Ticonderoga brand, because some of them will just continually break on you. They cost a little more, but will last a life time. Another good one is the square pencils like carpenters use, but you can't get a great point on them.
