I did something similar to your beautiful Christmas tree. I needed two days to complete mine but so worth it. I always get so many compliments. It is absolutely gorgeous. I used some sparkly ribbon. The KZbinr that I got this idea from about 5 years ago took each 2 inch length and crossed the ends over each other creating a pointy tip. I then applied glue to keep the piece in place. I did this step first and once I got 50 glued pieces together I started gluing those pieces to the tree. Once I finished the first row, I then started gluing the second row, but instead of placing the second row pieces directly on top of the first row pieces, I glued them in between the first two pieces of the second row between 2 bottom pieces. I scattered each row like this so it created a really nice tree effect. I hope this makes sense to anyone who wants to try it.

Love your beautiful creations. Holly, I was surprised you didn’t cover the back with paper. That ribbon on the cutting board is so Jolly Festive. My sister had some of the same kind back in the day. I just loved it back then as I do now. My sister could make or sew anything. She did ceramic and taught a ceramic class in her early forties. She had a kiln at her house and all kinds of molds. She was one of the ones who did the ceramic Christmas trees and started the watermelon pattern collection. Her watermelon ceramic pieces looked so realistic. She went to craft shows all over the state of Mississippi. I went with her when I was not on duty as an RN at the hospital. I tried to help her with all that needed to be done with the ceramics, but the dust and me did not get along. I did love going to the craft shows and helping her there. My neighbor bought the whole eighth piece table set. Salt and pepper shakers, pitcher glasses, napkins rings. She bought everything that was in the whole collection of the watermelon collection. My sister and I lived an hour away from each other. I brought the collection back to my neighbor once my sister had completed it. They met at a craft show and determined that I, she and I were neighbors. My son was taking swimming lessons from her at the time. Ironic.
