AC duct foil tape in strips on the underside of the reflector might work good. But it seemed to work pretty well inside the tent.

Mark, Hands down, that is the best tent light. Price is high but it works great. I think a throw away mini pie pan from a little pie would reflect nicely.

Very nice light. I’m thinking that you might use a dremel tool with a sanding drum and grind a slight notch on the underside of the d-ring. Just enough to make it easier to get a fingernail under it for an easier lift from its seated position. I think it may even loosen up some as it is, after repeatedly cycling it. It is a spendy item but if it lasts a long time, probably worth it. Maybe use some spray adhesive and glue some aluminum foil to the underside of the shade. Your product reviews are very helpful for your viewers. 👏👍✌️

The electric version of a UCO candle lamp. Like the look of this and that magnetic light baffle is great, if Apple made torches and lanterns it would be something like this.

This is not a flashlight you can run over with a tank or a search light, it's definitely meant to be a regular all-around use camplight and it seems to do a great job at that! You could easily make a reflector for this with a mylar blanket, cardboard (or some thin polymer), spray glue (secret ingredient) and tiny magnets or just a couple of slits.

Tape a small piece of ductape on it with a small tail sticking up from the handle, then all you have to do is pull on the tape, or even a piece of thread tied to it to pull on.

Be interesting to see what they'd think about adding a slow flash mode. That, a magnetic base, and a slip on color bezel and this wouldn't be a bad car flashlight/lantern/electric road flare.

Neat but not for me. Non replaceable battery is a no go (i refuse to buy anything that I cannot replace the battery on), and I don't like combination lantern/flashlights as I am paying extra for the flashlight part that wont perform anywhere near as good as a dedicated flashlight. The UCO Candle Lanterns are great alternative. 12-15 hour burn time for beeswax candles, and they can heat the tent some too. Appreciate the review.

I can see how that would be deal breaker for some. I have the UCO lantern and love it. Thanks for commenting

I like the shade. Speaking of, I need to get the UCO shade for my lantern. I think it would be fine as a dedicated lantern, no need for a flashlight on it. I prefer candle/ambient light. 🇨🇦🇺🇸✌️

I have a shade for my candle lantern (REI that's identical to the UCO) not having the light shine in your eyes when it's on the carry stick I made for it really makes it better as a 'walking around' light.

I think this would be a very neat and useful light. I do see something that I think would have made it better for me. If it had a recessed area around the flashlight end so the shade would fit at either the top or bottom. This way you could direct the light toward the top of the tent, which would diffuse the light even more. Also, if you wanted to close the D ring and set it on a table and the shade could go at the top it would diffuse the light downward. I’m not good at explaining hopefully you understand. Thank you Mark!

I got it 'cause it was exactly what I was thinking! It would also be nice if both the lantern and the flashlight could be used at the same time. I'm looking for an indoor 'power outage' lantern and being able to point a light at the ceiling to light up the room while also having a task light would be nice.

Your idea is very good and clear. I did try reversing the windscreen in the grove provided. It works well when the light is in lantern mode. Thanks for commenting

Stick a bit of chewing gum over the hole, but seriously for something with so many great design features this seems to be rather an odd charging port placement.

G'day Mark, not bad, certainly a bit different and does satisfy the design intent........in tent ; ) Non-replaceable battery though is a bummer. I wonder if it can be used whilst charging ? Cheers Duke

Hi Duke. Yes, I did test it by plugging the light into a power bank. The light worked but I am only assuming it was charging at the same time. Thanks for commenting
