Neat review! I think it is a quite interesting product. Those who think it is expensive: guys, a practice amp/Bluetooth controlled/stereo Bluetooth speaker/audio interface plus an Ampero thrown in. Not the worst deal. Unimaginable when I started playing guitar.

It does have some cool features. And it looks cool with the LEDS if that’s important to you.

Also, for close mic of lower output, small FRFR speakers like ones built in to this unit, I'd actually recommend a pencil condenser or handheld vocal condenser. For the cheap side, Behringer has the C-2 Stereo pair, which would let you put one mic on each speaker, and they also have the SB 78a. An LDC would likely do the trick as well. A vocal dynamic mic like a 58, rode podmic, or similar would also probably work better than a 57 or an analogous mic from another brand, due to the differences in low end response and proximity effect. So, a vocal dynamic would work better, as would an LDC or SDC, and tbh in a perfect world you'd probably want to use one of each, dynamic and condenser, on each speaker.

I’d have to agree that 400$ for a practice amp is a bit steep. But I think people are forgetting how much versatility is in these things now. Bluetooth setup plus all the FX??? Amazing. Would you also be doing a demo at any point for the Positive Grid Spark Head + Cab??? Curious to see how well that fairs as a small practice space amp.

As time goes by, we see more and more good products coming from Chinese brands, and that’s exciting. It creates competition for American products, which tend to stagnate and lack innovation. The Chinese brands seem to understand everything, engaging in a constant race to offer the best product. I just ordered mine, and I think it will be great on its own, but I can't wait to test it connected to my JBL PartyBox Ultimate.

I'd rather it be a head. A little expensive for a tiny practice amp. Practice amps are normally supposed to be affordable. Thanks for demoing it for those who are interested dude 🤘
@TaylorDanley Жыл бұрын
Yeah same. If it was 100w head it’d be a lot more usable.

it can be run from the headphone out into FoH/PA or a power amp + FRFR cab, or into an active FRFR guitar/PA cab, or an acoustic combo. Alesis, Headrush, Behringer, Donner, Stage Right/Monoprice, and a million and one smaller brands on Amazon and Sweetwater have options available.

I was all set to sell off a couple of amps to buy this one, but the tiny tiny touchscreen really makes me hesitate. I have a hard enough time with apps on my phone already. - can I edit patches on my computer and load them into the amp? If so, the screen becomes less important. - what about changing patches on the fly, is that only by using the touchscreen/phone, or is there a footswitch for a/b or +/- patches? Is it really that much better sounding than the Yamaha THR?

At $400 it has to have effects loop, 1/4" and XLR outputs to run to a power amp/ PA and MIDI for a pedal board. If it is a stable platform it could be used as something live otherwise its just another bedroom practice amp.

Hey Taylor, are you planning on testing the Ampero II Stage? I bought the first Ampero mainly because of your recommendation and I'd like to upgrade to something with similar connection possibilities and stereo processing.

Seems to me like the Spark with the powered cab is more practical and louder. I don’t think this could even get you through a rehearsal. I mean, for metal, neither probably. For rock I think the Spark might do the trick.

This has the potential to be awesome!!!! Audio interface, that's cool....no FX Loop, and no 1/4" or other outputs to connect to a power amp, or pa....or pedal board... For the cost of this, you would think that there would just be more features. $400 bucks is a lot of money for a (somewhat limited) practice amp. Thanks for sharing though.

I agree, especially when you can get a katana for $100 less. But if you are really into the Ampero ecosystem, this is their offering.
