@@HotRodJenPinstriping good show, if this means you have it!!, I have Autism, and because of my coordination difficulties, I would spray, as the fine mist would, to my way of logic, give a more consistent result, and a finer coating of paint, Plus my mechanical 'nouse' would mean I could troubleshoot the sprayers, and disassemble them to clean, as I could remember where all the parts go!

@@HotRodJenPinstriping My dad was a hand sign painter all his life. He used a ponce wheel on handle after having hand drawn the lettering on paper with a pencil. Real talent. He did get a plotter and started cutting vinyl in his 60s when that became popular. He used an archery arrow with a rubber ball he stuck on top to steady his hand, other end on the floor for truck doors.. Personal preference but i would have filled the lightening bolts with yellow or darker silver. Brightened the whole design. You're really talented as well.

As my hand sign painter dad said about vinyl "any idiot can go buy a plotter, cut vinyl, and call themselves a commercial artist but their sense of design sucks." He was right. Some signs I see these days hurt my head, really, I have to look away, after having seen my dad's handwork all my life growing up. Even after he bought a plotter after 50 years hand painting his product was always "pleasing to the eye" s s he put it. I could recognize his work on a van that would drive by even if I hadn't seen him letter it. He's long dead now and I'm old too. So good to see art still alive.

Back around 1980 did electrical work in a long building where talented guys would paint 80' long billboard panels. Owner was the biggest cheapest scum bag. In winter only kept the building heated to 40 degrees so paint would not freeze. Summer only had 1 small fan on the floor. Guy had expensive cars, large house, summer house down the shore and a winter cabin but told us he was struggling. Yep struggling to make his next millon.

Hi Jen. I like your videos. I like how you explain what brushes you're using what paint and brushs you use and why you're using them. You explain things very well. What age did you start? My dad was a sign painter for 47 years. He went to Art school in Chicago in 68. and growing up as a kid, I watched him letter trucks, letter signs, sides of buildings, and windows. Build signs, and letter. In my thirties I asked him if he could show me at a letter. I got busy with work so I didn't do it anymore. I wish I had. Now I want to try and picked up way back then. I want to try pinstripping and lettering again. I'm retired, at 67 years old. I need to learn brushes, paints, techniques. What is the best way to communicate with you?

good video, and good on you, for explaining the ocd stuff, but also one thing, if you are a 'lefty' with the brush, having to solve "wet-on-wet" issues would be childs play, as using pens would come into the same things, esp. with fountain pens/charcoal/crayons, as this is 'wet' too, and you would have had plenty of practice with that.
