I'm a music lover of the 60's, 70's and early 80's. Old hippie. Doors, Zeppelin, Sabbath, pink Floyd, Moody Blues, motorhead, etc. So many more. My brain mentally blocks newer bands (your will too one day). But I have to admit, Guns and Roses done everything right. The music, the videos, band member personalities. This band makes my list of the very best. Just a comment from a picky old buzzard that loves music.

This is just so beautiful. Just 2 beautiful male voices and guitar, no special effects or staging. Nice harmonising. Just a pure, simple sincere love song, but it really touches deep within the soul of so many who love this song, me included.

@AxlRose-bk6jm Er, um... Caught out... Er,OK, um.. I was just saying...I love these boys' song. Real true love, so honest, sincere. Oh, I like yours, too...Why you get so jealous? Just 'cos I love boys singing me a true love song to make me feel good?
@AnnemarieMay10 ай бұрын
@AxlRose-bk6jm Are you the real Axl Rose, that guy from Guns And Roses, the hot sexy one with the red hair and tattoos. I hated red haired guys and tattoos, until I saw that Axl Rose guy and heard him sing, back in the 80's as a new bride and got immediately hooked and rushed out and bought a Guns and Roses CD, to play in secret because my new hubby and I both loved music and played guitar etc, only we disagreed on type of music. I liked hard rock/metal,he hated it. I was playing Guns and Roses full blast as I tried to clean up the hole we live in and my new husband came home unexpectedly and said 'Turn that f....g racket OFF, now and stop ogling that singer with that head band... You are supposed to be my wife now, grow up and that CD has got to go out of this house or you go or I leave you... ' The marriage was only a few weeks old and already on the rocks. He took my CD off me and I never heard or saw Guns and Roses again, only glimpses of their photos on the cover of music magazines but rediscovered them after my marriage ended in divorce, some 20 years later and the intensity and themes of such music still blew my mind, even after all those years, like a kind of mental drug or something I needed, that I couldn't get by any other means...
@AnnemarieMay10 ай бұрын
@AxlRose-bk6jm Are you the real Axl Rose or just another impersonator? Seems like everybody wants to be Axl Rose. Must be because they think if the impersonate Axl Rose, they can get all the desperate women who want Axl Rose. I'm pretty real and don't chase after what I can't have, don't touch what I can't afford. But I do love Axl Rose's singing and his great band, too. Very original and creative. Explores unusual human themes, goes to dark places of the soul and human experience where few other artists dare to go, exploring emotions etc that are real, but few could imagine expressing with music.
@AnnemarieMay10 ай бұрын
@AxlRose-bk6jm Er, um, I'm pleased to meet you, Sir... I heard you are the lead singer of a rock band called Guns and Roses. I am honoured to make your acquaintance, Mr Axl Rose. I like uour music very much. Thank you for the fine music that brings so much pleasure to so many adoring fans.

is about accepting and embracing the inevitability of death, and the idea of never truly being given a fair chance beyond the life that you live. The singer seems to be reflecting on his life, feeling like he has been wronged, and considers death an alternate way out from the oppressive life that he lives. He asks his mother to take away his gun-the one thing that gives him a semblance of power-and feels himself being ”knockin on heaven's door,” metaphorically indicating he is coming close to death. The spoken solo in the middle provides insight into the state of life the singer has been living, and the fact that it is not luck that will get him out of it alive. The song is a reflection of our mortality, and a reminder to make the best of our limited time on earth.

We lost our friend and bandmate today. She loved singing this song. Such a talented,determined, courageous, kind and beautiful person. She always made people smile, always knew what to say, even during hard times. If she were here, she would tell me not to be sad, but to keep going. I remember how she always gave the tightest and warmest hugs and I now realise that you never know when it is the last time to hug someone. She is literally knocking on heaven's door. Rest in peace big sis, I hope you're having fun up there, singing with Bob Marley and Kurt Cobain. Fly high and safe 🕊

May he RIP. I never thought of this song as a good modern general type song but it would be perfect for the funerals of old male war vets here, who loved it. Might suggest it. I have heard louder, rowdier music played at funerals. Mourners were shocked, then comforted by a letter the deceased wanted read out to them, assuring them he was having a great time where he was and apologising he could not be fully present at this party in his honour.Mourners laughed, as tears streamed down their faces.

Can this song be used by someone to indicate that they are having a really hard time in their relationship with their loved one? Like you know, the relationship coming to an end or not having the power to make it better? Or does it talk about death only? I’m asking you this cause you talked out first love and first heartbreak 💔
