Houdini In Five Minutes 19: SOPs, Redshift & MOPs - Isocontours: Setting Up The Rendering

In our final project for this first sprint of "Houdini in five minutes" we're gonna build a tactical shooter style isocontour map with a bunch of moving particles. We're gonna be using Houdini's built in SOPs, a bit of MOPs (www.motionoperators.com) and Redshift (www.redshift3d.com). In this third part we're setting up our scene for rendering in Redshift.

Would be nice if redshift could give us some other particle shapes than just spheres in houdini. Instances just kill the speed so much.

Hi, sorry to bother you but how long should it take to render this animation in redshift? It took almost 10 hrs to render 100 frames in my computer. I guess i have a terrible computer or i'm doing something wrong

in mantra or redshift? mantra is notoriously slow. redshift has many attributes like any other renderer and if one thing is set too high it'll take decades to render.

The problem looks like it is with the mountain node. Entagma's has the little mountain drawing while mine is like a point with a dialogue box

Great tutorial!! Until 3:42 where i that i do not have the general section at my disposel, in the rslightdome node. Any idea for the reason being?

Are you using Redshift? If not you need to buy or use the non commercial version of Redshift(Non commercial version everything is the same but, it has watermarks).
