Blender is on the bottom Houdini is on the top. Don't get it twisted though, Houdini is capable of a lot more than Blender when it comes to simulations, it's just not shown by the video creator because he wants to draw an unfair comparison between the two. Houdini does a different job than Blender but it does that job very well whereas blender is capable of a lot more of a variety of things but it doesn't necessarily "excel" in any of them.

Honestly I have to disagree here. Houdini is perfectly fine for Modeling - it’s just not setup at all. By changing a few shortcuts, settings and radial menus you can turn Houdini into a really capable modeling tool. The only extreme negative that I have found is that converting selections from point to primitive or edge selections does not stop at the boundary, basically increasing the selection. That is super frustrating! Other than that it can really be a great modeler, where you can easily and quickly implement some proceduralism into the normal modeling workflow!

Both are actually really good, but one is for 3D modeling and all of the rest, while the other is for simulation, and for simulation standards, houdini is much better, but all the other afromentioned capabilities are better in blender, houdini might seem bad because he's doing begginer stuff, plus, for blender you need an understanding of coding, while houdini has pre-made stuff

But you can download cracked versions of ZBrush or Substance online and use them without having to buy them. Or is the law in your country too strict
