HOUGHTON FEAST FAIRGROUND MODEL SHOW 2020
The ‘John Murphy’ Fairground model show takes a new format this year! Footage showing working and static fairground models, many of which have been skilfully made by local fairground enthusiasts, will premiere on the KZbin channel of Houghton Heritage Society.
This virtual fairground model show, now in its third year, was named in honour of the late showman John Murphy who supported Houghton Feast for 70 years.
In the video, we get to meet some of the people who made the models and hear their stories.

Next year if the fair does go ahead I think one of the waltzer should go I dont see why there is 2 lol

Show families have positions protected by guild rights at certain fairs that go back years. There's the Murphy position and the Turner position. They both own waltzers that are very good at taking money at a busy fair.
