Thanks man! 🙂🐾👍 Aye, it was SUPER busy! There was 2 mountain rescues when I got back down as well. One helecopter and another on with a quad. Plus I helped a lass with a buckled knee back down. Got the luko tape out to bind her knee and gave her my walking poles until we got to the bottom. Just SO many folk on the hill that day!

Haha, cheers Craig! 🐾👍 Aye, hangover hiking man; gets you used to keeping going when you feel your worst physically! Kinda comes in handy too, like on the last day of hiking the length of Scotland last year when I got food poisoning and was super dehydrated after crappin' and spewin' all night and had hardly any sleep. Still made it to the border though: hangover training helps! 😂👍 This wan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZKudKyQh5uGfsk

Hi Hounds, some day for October! Been up the Ben three times now, each time via the Carn Mor Dearg arete, but always decended via the Tourist Path. The old boy with the "lost soul" reminded me last year in Applecross when I found someones detached boot sole. He must have have had pretty sore feet at the end of the day, unless of course he was a hot coal walker!

Amazing footage from the top and what a cracking day you had. Was good to see the old fella we the trashed boots taking them off the hill rather than dumping them on the mountain. Keep up the good work always enjoy your videos. All the best keep on plodding. P.S. can I ask what type of squeezy drinks bottle you had with you …..cheers

Its only been just over a week since i did nevis and after watching this i would do it again! I didnt carry all the water up either i used a grayl i know expensive and heavy but im paranoid about drinking bad water. Using it seemed a great source of entertainment to fellow hikers for some reason but much preferred to carrying 2 litres of water. The ear buds in playing loud music i call it beast mode only to be cracked open in an emergency or when im tired and pussing out as my son says. The whole top was covered in snow and the scree bit before all covered in ice when i did it..... i saw a fair few wipeouts ( including my own.)

It's the training good sir! Haha! When I hiked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal the Sherpas were calling me 'Hillary'. Folk couldn't understand how I could booze, smoke and then hike like I did; I called it hangover training. Like if you train when you are hungover and feel like absolute shecht you get kinda used to performing when you feel your worst. It's a good idea! Makes you strong! 😉🐾👍

That place just seems to get more busy! Don't know that I could do it on the back of a litre of Vodka though! Looking forward to Mull, Staffa and Iona videos, done them all more than once, jumped the chain in Fingals Cave and went as far back as I could go, missus decided to join me lol, other tourists were all Ooooh Naughty! but fun, soon became a free for all. Slept my hangover off on the stern of the boat on the way back to Iona, probably lucky I didn't roll off the back but then I'm practised at sleeping on boats.
@HoundsofHowgate5 жыл бұрын
For sure, it was crazy busy! 🙂🐾👍 Yeah, that's a great trip; I've actually been on it before where you could go into the cave. This time round you couldn't because the path had fell away during a storm! There was a guy there repairing it though, so it will be all good again. 👍

Hi John, the views are fantastic!!! You were lucky with the weather. I've done recently Augustow Canal hike and really loved it. There are three canals like that in the world Caledonian in Scotland, Augustow in Belarus-Poland whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/2101/ and Gota in Sweden. Now I need to finish the Caledonian on the Great Glen Way, then walk Gota Canal in the future. I need to upload Cape Wrath Trail and Augustow canal videos, but soo much editing :-( I prefer walking to editing.

Felt sorry for the guy with the crappy boots, reminded me of a mate I go walking with who refuses to spend money on good gear. Lost his boot souls on the last day of a trek in the Atlas mountains and had to do the last 3 or 4 miles in socks and flip flops. Still not as funny as when we first started walking many years ago and we had to stop half way up the trek to Annapurna base camp in Nepal to get his rucksack fixed 'cause one of the straps had failed. On emptying his kit he discovered a cast iron griddle his flat mate had sneaked in the bottom of his bag, which is probably still being used to this day by the lady who fixed his strap!
