Yeesss. The pink palette is stunning on more fair skin. It's so beautiful. The Gold one is sold out, however, I LOVE the Becca X Khloe palette. In my opinion, it's just as good as the Hourglass, and even though you don't get the setting powders, it's still a great alternative 💖💖💖

Thank you for the comparison! I bought the unlocked (gold) palette from the Hourglass site before Sephora was selling, as I was too impatient to wait! I have pretty fair skin and I absolutely love the unlocked (gold) palette. I have so many single pan Hourglass products that I was super excited for a palette of all new colors. This was the best analysis of the differences between the two palettes that I've seen so far! It didn't exactly help me decide which one to get, because now it's official: I like certain elements in each of them better than the other (Wouldn't it be great if Hourglass made one of those with customizable shade choices?!). Dim light, the first one in the edit 4, is in that other trio you showed. Same product. Also, Euphoric Fusion (plum blush) isn't new, it's part of the permanent line. The only new ones in that palette are the bronzer and coral blush. Just in case anyone is confused!

Also question--did either highlight have glitters in it? Gold's(ghost's) looks comparable to the metallic strobe palette's formula which had no glitters. The pink(edit 4) has one of the original strobe powders in it and I heard that formula had very teeny glitters in it.

I was excited for the lavendar one since the finishing powders are favorites for many and aslo was drawn to the peach blush, however, i am returning. The first finishing powder adds a color to my skin that is off. At the end of the day my makeup looks cakey with either finishing powder. Looks like to me that the gold palette would be more my taste, but i also did not like the pan size. I do love the look they gave but if its going to get cakey idk🤔i guess no matter how fine the powder, my skin just doesnt like powder...ty for review and comparison

I hear you, I don't typically like powders on my face, hence the reason i'm so picky with my concealers and foundation. I need them to perform on their own. But, i'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with this palette😢 But I'm glad you got your money back. That's one expensive item to not like. 🙄 But, I do love that gold palette... But if those finishing powders are cakey on you, the gold palette may be the same way❤❤ Not sure if it's worth trying it...🤔🤔

Thanks Tara. I’m so glad I got the Unlocked gold palette. I have been using it in some form everyday. The bronzer is perfect. The only reason I would have been tempted to get the edit 4 is for the peachy coral shade, but now that I know it’s more pink, I will spend my money on something else. I have the edit 3 anyway so it’s so similar. FYI, the first finishing powder in edit 4 is dim light, which is the same as the first shade in the ambient lighting palette. Dim light is my favourite finishing powder, I have the full size as well as in two palettes. I use it to buff my makeup after bronzer and blush. If I set my under eyes I love Diffused light. 💕

Hmm🤔 this is a tough call for me because I like the bottom row of the pink palette better, and the top row of the gold palette better😫 . But I'm also scared to put that much shine on my face because my skin is oily. I think I may try one of the travel size powders first to see if I like the look of it. But thank you for a comparison of the two products. I probably never would have considered trying this brand otherwise😊.

I totally understand. I have had friends who use hourglass and have oily skin. BUT, everyone is different and you're right, Buying a few smaller sizes first to see if you like it would be a good idea. If you decide on a holiday palette, if you don't like it you could always return it but that's still a hassle that I never get around to doing. Lol. Hourglass is VERY unique, and lays over the skin in such a unique way.. I definitely would try it before a bigger purchase❤❤

Yes, sadly these are limited edition. 😥 But, I buy all my Hourglass in minis. I used the Radiant Bronze light in the mini size all summer long and still haven't hit pan. I'm not sure how long they last, but, I would say I used it for nearly 4 mths straight❤❤ Hope that helps❣❣

I have heard several say the pink palette is possibly for lighter skin tones and I agree. I think it shows up better on lighter skin. @@rafaelarosario2056 I think Dim light would be your best shade. It has a little bit of shimmering properties in it but not a highlighter. More of a over all powder. If you want something to actually set down your makeup without ANY shimmer, I recommend the Translucent setting Powder. But if you want a little bit of shimmer, I think that shade would be beautiful on your skin. If you live near Sephora (or anywhere that sells hourglass, you should go in and play with them. Swatch them and find a nice shade for your skin tone❤❤❤❤Hope this helps

Hey sweets💗💗 I am dry normal.. I have had friends who have oily skin and didn't dare buy it because of that. I have had a few say they have oily skin and it looks great on their skin. But, it's so expensive it's hard to take that risk. If you do decide to buy one of these, I recommend buying it from a place that has a good return policy. I bought mine from Beautylish because of that. They have such a easy, hassle free return policy💜💜💜 Hope that was somewhat helpful💜💜

But not enough to dramatize texture or anything like that. It's pretty mild. Hourglass has such a unique powders. They are subtle on the face, but really beautiful. Great thing about Hourglass is they are great ingredients, not organic but definitely high quality and I think you would be just fine with sensitive skin. My recommendation is buy it from somewhere that has a great return policy. (I love beautylish return policy. It's easy and hassle free) and they also have a interest free pmt program which is really nice. But if you get it and don't like it, you can take it back💗 Hope that helps 💋💋
