Hey man just wanted to say I appreciate your breakdown videos so far. I played your Purple Luffy list this past weekend and went 4-0 and 3-1 at my locals. Its been a lot of fun and using your matchup tips has helped so me much.

Hey, first of all: Thank you for the videos. The tech breakdown and strategy for different leaders really help me in adjusting decks to my lgs meta. Second, I wanted to ask you, if the Booster Box Treasure Cup lists on egman events have changed your mind on Shanks or do you also think that the winner was lucky to go 10-0?
@GreatLakes-TCG7 сағат бұрын
Like I mentioned several times in the video, if you play 7beard, you have to play yassop, if you switch out the marco's for the 7 beard, and switch out the red hawks for yassop we literally have a very similar list to the winner one, outside of the added consistency of the 2 event searchers

Yeah shanks didn't seem too good in my testing as well, I think the deck just needs one or two more good cards to push it over the edge. Great vid as always!

Hey I cant seem to find you on discord, do you have a link? Also is there a purple luffy like community discord?

I'm currently testing out fiery doll and dragons breath. And both have been doing good so far. I tried out roundtable and it has been beautiful. Its such a shame it doesnt have a trigger effect. Even something small as draw one card or -1k to opponent L or C

Nice videos man, very specific points for every deck thats amazing. Can you make a video of blue doffy deck?
@GreatLakes-TCG6 күн бұрын
I have been working on doffy a lot recently, but next video is likely Blackbeard, I think the players need it hahaha, that deck is losing popularity
@AceSlayxx2 күн бұрын
This video aged nicely as shanks won the treasure cup lol
@GreatLakes-TCG7 сағат бұрын
I think the winner list took the deck in a more consistent fashion and pulling in all the anti-doffy tech, but Shanks in general had the worst conversion rate of all the top 32 decks unfortunately. It seems like I really nailed it with my description actually.

Very informative... Thank you for reminding me that shanks is definitely not the move.
@GreatLakes-TCG6 күн бұрын
I honestly think that is also the case, but I heard if you play a certain "someone's" build it is the best build and nothing will ever go wrong

I think the by luffy matchup spread is wrong. BY wants to go first to play 8k luffy on curve so it survives 1 more turn. If it goes second it gets popped by ben beckman on 7don
@Godon136 күн бұрын
How does Beckmann pop it on curve if it activates ability?
@Gabriel-ms6qw6 күн бұрын
@Godon13 by playing hongo on 3 don
@Godon135 күн бұрын
Yes but you are forcing them to waste more cards out of hand to self activate an extra turn without Moria. And if we starve, and they activate punch twice for self activation they can get punished hard by a well placed dragon followed by 10 shanks
@Godon135 күн бұрын
Also in that scenario I can still clear on 6 with Marco + building snake
@Gabriel-ms6qw5 күн бұрын
@@Godon13 going building snake + marco is basically a losing play, you're using way too many cards just to deal with one card from luffy, so as a by player, I would be ok with that. Also, that 8k body sticking for 1 turn will do wonders for luffy, he wants to go face, I don't care about me losing 1 additional card, I will make sure you can't even play 10c shanks because you'll be at 1 life. Luffy wants to be as aggresive as possible, going second is the opposite of that since you're basically the one responding to your opponents' moves

Lemme cook I added 9c Newgate and it’s so gas
@GreatLakes-TCG6 күн бұрын
Let me know how it is! Ive been testing a deck with izo searcher and more WB package cards, its not exactly "better" than this one in testing but there may be more to see with different versions of that list.
@noooodIe6 күн бұрын
@ the Newgate has been great honestly. My main issue with shanks is once I get into a losing position there’s not much to do. Too many times where I might die next turn, and all I can play out is a 10c shanks that does nothing besides make me lose more lol. Newgate has been the opposite, make me a 7k wall, leave 1 don open for rad beam and it becomes a lot harder I kill me

Make one of those guides for Luffy BP
@GreatLakes-TCG6 күн бұрын
That is the plan if time allows! Though I will say I have yet to see a decklist for BP luffy that gets me excited to play it. Probably working on blackbeard next.

@ Right now im trying The removal build with sabo Secret, really fun deck to play! But he is the enemy of consistency lol

And what about of rp luffy?
@RevansNightmare6 күн бұрын
I don’t like the Marco and Ace in the build. I have been trying to figure the build out to and have been really discouraged after playing over 300 matches with the deck.
@GreatLakes-TCG6 күн бұрын
I still am 50/50 on Ace myself, but MArco is 100% one of the best additions to the build especially if you are playing building snake and otama/hongo. The extra control and tempo swing you get a turn earlier then 7c beckman is essential in a lot of matchups and really was the first time ive seen the gap close between shanks and pluffy/doffy for instance without increasing unwanted brick counts.

Hey man, appreciate your content a lot! Your PLuffy guides helped me starting to play the deck, I got a pretty good result (6-0 swiss, lost to a Smoker on top8) at a 49 player tournament here in Brazil. A brazilian channel made a quick profile in case you're interested (it's in portuguese, but leaving the link just in case lol): kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3bXl42Ghs-FaZI I'm really excited with the deck for OP09. Just wanted to say thank you for all the awesome content, keep up the good work! 😄
