Only GRA is secure. As a buyer coming from abroad, there is only a few places we can live unfortunately. I really don’t think realtors on the ground have any concept of the ridiculous security challenges we face just by making the decision to come home.

If you are referring to GRA Ikeja there are many other safe neighbourhoods. I won't say GRA Ikeja is past glory because even 22yrs ago a lot of places in GRA weren't safe... right now the road there in the inner streets is in a sorry state... one should check well before choosing to live there the drainages are very bad...a lot of people that used to live there abandoned their mansions and eventually sold off. Its because of proximity to the airport that's why you see many new developments there particularly short let apartments and hotels... its not the best place to stay.

Nothing in mainland is “safe”. There are 3 estates in Ikoyi and a couple mini estates, pretty much all the estates in VI, and estates at the beginning of phase 2 in Lekki, there are also some other zones scattered in Lekki where someone coming from abroad can buy a house and live in relative safety. We have people stalking us from the airport, these days, it’s not a joke.
