Hello family I see you were back in the Houston area house hunting again. I live in the outskirts of Houston, Montgomery County, north of Houston. I've lived in Houston my whole life and we moved from the Southwest side to Montgomery County 2 years ago. We were also looking for a large home with plenty of yard space. We wanted country for the space and yard, but we also wanted a community. We received both. I wanted to name a few builders that may meet your requirements as well. The first one is Drees homes, I know you toured one, but it wasn't the largest one they have. The one we viewed when house hunting had the laundry room and craft room attached to the master bedroom. It was over 5300 sq ft. Also in our community it came with a half acre. Also close to Bridgeland community is a community called Town Lake. They have nice size homes, but we didn't choose that community because we wanted more trees in the community and that community is more of a resort style. If Houston is still on y'all radar, consider looking at communities that have Partners in Building Homes, J Patrick Homes, David Weekly homes and there's also Fulshear TX which is down the road from Katy Tx. They have an acreage community and a half acreage community. There is a fairly new acreage community in Montgomery County Texas off of 249. The custom builders may have spec homes available. Also I see y'all viewed homes in Sienna Plantation, but right around the corner is Sienna Point and they are an acreage community.

Food for thought, the only thing in my opinion that sets the builds apart is location, and with that, i mean close neighbors, ample space neighbors, or no neighbors. The cosmetics can always be revisited once it's your home, and unless it's major, it shouldn't be a deal breaker. Are you solid on hoa? How close do you want your neighbors? Are you ok with seeing the neighbors siding right outside your windows? What are your requirements for land size? Happy looking

Happy New Year!! 🎆 Hubby and I loved the home w the two toned kitchen cabinets. It has been a bit of a challenge. It’s almost like you decided to go to a restaurant when you haven’t eaten all day and you’re hangry but the menu has too many options so you get frustrated. I have felt that one too many times. I think a dream home is one you build from the ground up. Obviously we want to be content and happy in any home you buy because it’s an investment but at the same time, homes can always be updated. Choose something that’s an upgrade from what you have and fix it as time progresses. OR, continue to wait on the Lord to reveal the home. Take some time to clear your mind, consecrate and fast before the Lord and wait for His voice! Hubby and I will lift your family up. Stay encouraged brother and sis❤

I like this first home. The kitchen and bath! Backyard looks great too ! I also like the one that you said the kitchen look small. My idea in house hunting is put the most important features for your family and if the house checks off all your boxes, bingo! For example, 1. Location 2. Large modern kitchen 3. My opinion is to avoid buying a home from that builder in case you want to move in the future. House #1 looked fantastic. Definitely research property taxes AND the HOA fees in Sienna. We live across the way and used to own in the Atascocita area. Our property taxes doubled when we moved to Fortbend County. Also, not sure if your kiddos go to public school but make sure to check the stats on the schools. The middle schools and high schools (Ridgepoint specifically) are not the greatest.
