So beautiful fellow Chicagoans! I lived in Naperville for years and hands down that is my favorite place to live and raise a family. The best school district. Extremely safe and away from the city. Plus has their own downtown. Bolingbrook and Plainfield are good areas too and more diverse. Blessings to you two on your home search. I am so excited for you🌺

I’m also in Chicago for the time being. Here are some other things to consider as newlyweds when buying a home and planning for children. Don’t rush it. Never feel obligated to any premature expectations or external influences. Couples who wait longer (3-10 yrs) often have stronger bonds and are better skilled at handling personality quirks. They’re less likely to abandon the marriage despite hardships or sacrifices. Contemplate if you’re both entirely ready to lose your adult privacy (living spaces for physical intimacy), sleepless nights with children under 5 years of age, the freedom to sleep in on weekends. Cancelled activities due to a fussy baby or sick child, less frequent or spontaneous weekend getaways. Are family or close friends nearby to provide planned or spur of the moment childcare? Have or would you consider a townhome or one closer to the city as your first purchase? Don’t forget to visit other nearby churches. Having an additional support system, is necessary and wise as Iman will need some Christian couples to look out for her while you may be working outside the home or area. Is she able to handle or comfortable with AAA roadside assistance while driving alone or commuting long distance into the city? Do you enjoy yard work, shoveling several feet of snow or does your budget allow for an experienced gardener? Don’t forget to budget for pest control-girly girls are afraid of spiders. *Factor in the large utility costs and/or pool maintenance during harsh winters and summers. If you get a house with a pool make sure to get a pool with an alarm system, iron clad cover and fencing where the pool won’t be on display. Don’t forget to include child safety locks for windows especially on 2-3 story homes. I say all this to say, starting off smaller is ok, you’ll both gain more experience before moving into and maintaining a larger house with children. Edit: grammar

Beautiful home great thing is that school is closed during the summer months and elementary school are typically close by 3:30 during the weekday. I think it would be great to walk your future children to school. Again it’s a beautiful home.

Hey you guys! Find the house the Obamas lived in, perhaps it is on the market! I bet it would be seriously overpriced because it belongs to him. Always remember your first house is a practice run for how you want to live. It should not be considered a forever house. Don't move too far out that you face weather challlenges, crime, darkness, proximity issues with family and friends, as well as church, work, airport, et al. Pools and Elementary school students don't mix. Students simply love houses with pools and absent owners. They do not respect trespassing laws, high fences or any such measures to keep them safe. You really don't want your future children to live so close to the school that your family loses its privacy. You all have dependable transportation, you can get to the school of your choice whether it is in your neighborhood or not. Much prayer is required when you are house hunting. We wish you the very best in your efforts. Hopefully you will be able to take advantage of President Biden's New initiative he's working on for first time homeowners.
