Thanks for the great mix! A technical question: You use the Flex as an effect device. How do you do that with the connection? Mixer-Flex?

Hey! In this vid I’ve got both the Interface 2 and the FLX4 plugged into the laptop, and the FLX4 is acting as a glorified midi controller at this point. I can still choose effects and apply them within Rekordbox before it hits the mixer. Still will always use the filter on the Allen & Heath though as it sounds so much better!

Whats your honest opinion on the DVS? I've been considering Serato with a pair of PLX1000s but haven't had a chance to demo the Digital system yet. Only used to Vinyl, how would you compare the two, if being critical?

I think it’s great personally, still the tactile form factor of vinyl but with access to otherwise inaccessible music. I use Rekordbox with my Technics plugged into a Rekordbox Interface 2 - can’t fault it really for DVS use, latency is next to non existent. However, the preamps in that thing for listening to regular vinyl in pass through mode are garbage, so I do a bit of cable swapping if I want a OG vinyl set.

@@jamesbaldwinmusic thanks for the reply! Yeah thinking of getting the Xone23C to go with it, think the sound card is decent enough and easy to switch between analog and digital without the fuss with wires etc

Ah yeah the 23C looks cool, I just have the 23 so no sound card smarts for me out of the box. If Pioneer (or AlphaTheta, whatever) ever release a replacement for the DJM-450 I'd probably get one of those, but it's about 7-8 years old now.
