People are like "I love Frank he's my favorite!! " Yall must have some fucked up standards because Frank is written to be absolutely deplorable. Hes written to be a VILLAIN. What he stands for goes against anyone who is good in character. He killed two people, spits on Jesus, pisses on his fathers grave, mentally manipulates his wife, etc I can go on and on. Yeah you can understand and sympathize him but I dont understand why you have to idolize and admire him. Perhaps because they don't have it in themselves to get what they want and obtain control on people in their lives, so they admire a man who does..even if the person is absolutely deplorable...its kinda pathetic if you think about it.

+Gio Garcia Frank Underwood was channeling Iago from Season 1 to Season 2. After that, he's been downright channeling Macbeth. By the time series finale comes, it might be a spectacular display of something between Macbeth and Ozymandias. But at all times, Machiavellian ideals have never left Frank. I guess he still has quite some distance to fall.

Don't worry, Gio. The people who say things like that are generally sociopaths-in-training or Frank wannabes. Just watch and observe who to watch out for. I swear shows like this draw power from sociopathic fans stepping into the light. Showing their evil natures while claiming to be somehow "good people". It's the hallmark of the current near-nihilistic generation.
@Machowesker177 жыл бұрын
Gio Garcia Wall of text ahead. So what? we should always root unquestionably for the good guys? That's like why Frank himself always wants from everybody: to be followed unquestionably. Besides good guys win all the time, a little diversity is welcome. So what if he is one the most despicable, ruthless, sellfish, arrogant, narcissistic, manipulative, cold hearted characters ever? He's a fictional character and if people like him and root for him, let them. They have a right. That says nothing of their personality. I play as a bad guy in rpgs all the time, I've killed allies and put myself in a position of power in Dragon Age Origins. I literally am a monster. Am I like that in real life? no. I couldn't hurt a fly. Hell when there's a cockroach in the room, I rather just scare it away instead of killing it. I can't handle it. Fiction is fiction. Who we pretend to be or who we root for in fiction matters exactly less than a penny and says very little, if anything, about who we are. Frank Underwood is a villain, no doubt about that, just as much as I consider Light Yagami a villain, who cares? They're fictional characters, and the fact that they're the protagonists and the villains is what many people like. I like them because I find them more interesting than goody two shoes good guys who do the right thing just because it's the right thing. I also like them because, like I mentioned at the start, good guys win ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Give me something else. Even when villains are the protagonists they end up losing. I want something else. I want to see a bad guy win for a change. And I mean a permanent win. Not just a "they won now but they'll lose later". I know that's highly unlikely. So those are my reasons for rooting for him. And I imagine I'm not alone. sorry for the long comment.
