Kathy, I promised 7 paragraphs and I’m gonna deliver. You have never failed to amaze me with how well you can work. You’re such a determined person, always willing to start on a project and stick with it. You’ve stuck with this project for a year and then some. I would never be able to work for that long on just one thing. Your patience and dedication is really something admirable. I’ve sat there and watched you work through every inch of this. You’ve managed to work through any obstacle or struggle that comes your way whether it be lack of time to work or just simply wanting to focus on little mini projects. You still came back to this one and I’m so proud of you. I remember the days back earlier this year when you were unsure about this project. You would talk to me and tell me you didn’t know if you were going to finish it or not. I’m SO glad I partially motivated you to keep going, because this is truly my favorite work by you. I remember sitting in calls with you some nights, watching you work away and talking to you about it all. I remember being the one you always dumped your info onto because I was always so eager to listen. It made me happy to know you were working on something you truly enjoyed working on. I could tell just by how you spoke about it that This Project was something you were truly passionate about. All the RPs we’ve done has only built my connection with this project aside from the elephant in the room I won’t address here. Countless days we’ve spent writing the aftermath of this together (no spoilers smh) and it’s one of the few RPs I’ve ever been able to truly be invested in for this long. I’ve made so many characters for this universe because I just care about it so deeply. Whenever I hear this song, I think about my OCs and yours. I think about this universe now and just how amazing it really is. You put so much thought into the universe as a whole and not Just this particular animatic and it SHOWS. You clearly know everything about the world around these characters and how you can use it to make them interact. This project has sparked emotion in me and has been a hyperfixation of mine since you started it. Still bums me out Cal dies on my birthday haha. Hey! Due to requests and my Overwhelming Urge to Share my Ideas, I’m gonna put in a (not so) little plot explanation under the cut for folks who may be a little confused. This will contain spoilers (obviously), but please don’t let it deter you from theorizing and such! It’s been utterly amazing watching over 180k people find and watch this (honestly I’m shocked it got over 1k views), and I cannot thank y’all enough. I’m bad at responding to comments and questions, but know that I read every single one that pops up in my notifications, and I cannot express my gratitude enough. Y’all are amazing. DOUBLE EDIT: Yes, this is an entirely original story. This isn't for any other media, this is purely for my own OC's. When I said spoilers in the above paragraph, I simply meant spoilers for the 4-minute-video lol. Hope that clears stuff up! Anyway, explanation time: 0:01 We see a Calloway five years older than the present day Antimony and Calloway driving down a dark road less than an hour from midnight, smoking a cigarette. 0:11 He stops near a swing inhabited by a magical energy -- the first sign that something is amiss. 0:28 He drops his cigarette and it burns away a small patch of magic. Hm. 0:43 We cut to Antimony within the suspect house, mourning over a younger, scarless Calloway. The specific polaroid he holds is torn in half, suggesting someone else possesses the other side. 0:52 Antimony daydreams that he sees his boyfriend once again, alive and well … before suddenly reliving the moment that he died. 0:58 In rapid succession, we see: Calloway’s dead body, Antimony at his grave, a desperate Antimony turning to perilous methods in order to harness the power he needs in order to travel back in time to the 29th of September, and the time runes he supposedly used to do so … 1:01 .... Which now appear scuffed and old, suggesting it’s been a long while since Antimony used them. 1:05 A disguised Calloway conducts an investigation of the house, eventually coming across Antimony’s diary filled with “cycles”. 1:15 Antimony wakes up on September 29th, and prepares himself to save his boyfriend. 1:20 He succeeds, but his method in doing so gives the present day Calloway a nasty gash over his left eye. 1:28 After enjoying a day with his (alive) boyfriend, the clock hits midnight, and suddenly, Antimony wakes back up on the 29th. 1:35 The investigative Calloway, reading this, backs away, horrified. 1:42 Unfortunately for him, Antimony now knows there’s an intruder in his house. 1:45 Calloway peruses countless polaroids, each seemingly from a specific cycle, only to notice Antimony’s magic eyes watching him. 2:06 Antimony, not recognizing Calloway, only sees him as an intruder and attacks him as such. 2:28 Using his magic to lift him off the floor, Antimony throws this intruder through two stories, and we find Calloway in the basement, alive but with a broken arm. 2:40 During the bridge, we cut between a distressed, angry Antimony and a hurt Calloway, who seems to be searching for something … 2:57 Our eyes alight on it the same time Calloway’s do: the boiler. 3:00 Antimony arrives in the basement, but Calloway is nowhere to be seen. All that’s left is … 3:10 … the other half of the polaroid upstairs. It is at this moment that Antimony realizes who this intruder truly was: a Calloway five years in the future, somehow in this day and age, apparently here to rescue his lover from his time loop. 3:18 Antimony’s thoughts are cut short as he looks up and realizes his boiler has caught fire. 3:24 The witch tries to use his magic to project a shield, but the fire burns right through it; Antimony sees no other option but to flee. 3:41 The fire burns through the scuffed runes, destroying the source of the malicious magic keeping Antimony locked in his time loop. 3:43 Calloway, his work done, drives away to return to his time, knowing he’s saved his lover, just as Antimony had saved him all those years ago. 3:52 The clock strikes midnight, and we do not get to see whether or not Antimony wakes up on the morning of the 29th.

I had to pause the video 3 separate times to take a moment and freak out: The first chorus when it was revealed that the Red eyed man we've seen IN the titular house not only was the person yellow eyes wanted to save, but saving him from the accident is HOW he got his scar in the first place! The shot of Calloway(?) Being thrown down through the floorboards continuing on showing more boards broken as though were seeing the route he took after hed already gone through it even though it started by seeming like we'd be following his progress as he made the holes, I LOVE shots like that The fire. Just...wow. the orange glow building up while hes distracted and then he looks up just as the music cuts for an instant and WHOOSH the music kicks off in the most bittersweet yet epic way as this crazy powerful guy is reduced to a small figure in front of flames engulfing anything, and it's all so perfectly in beat with the song as he moves and that shot of him outside with the embers drifting about and all that distress,on his face AGH MY HEART I'm so curious about the story though! I get that yellow was a witch who got himself stuck in a time loop trying to save red (I keep forgetting their names) but somehow that situation led to the point red had grown up after being rescued, his scar healed up and everything, and j think went to the house to try and find out what happened? Save him? Or maybe he doesnt know that they should know each other or something? Cause yellow attacked him and then red burned the house down (breaking the loop?) and then just left? Theres something that's not clicking for me here about how a pure hearted attempt to save the life of someone he cared about got to this point, and the attention on the one picture of them both torn in half makes me think that they both needed the reminder of what they meant to one another once...or something Its heavy stuff being sung about and this enigmatic only serves to enhance that tenfold even if I cant logically follow the story I can FEEL what is being conveyed emotionally anyway, you know?

I got chills after reading the plot description. Amazing work, mah dude! At first I thought it was Calloway had seemingly entered his own mind, and after losing his lover in a fire, he needed to forget about Antimony and move on in his life. Then the Polaroids were all memories of him and Antimony and all the wonderful times they had while Antimony was alive. The house burning down at the end was him finally moving on from his lost lover and the burning Polaroids were him being done with his grief and moving on. And with that house and that clock striking 12 AM, he had moved on. But I was seeing it wrong, I guess. Wonderful job!

How come Antimony didn't recognize Calloway? The scar and red eyes seem like they'd be this huge indicator, I doubt they would be that common. If he did recognize Calloway, why attack him when he spent so long trying to save him? Callowey was drawn to the house since it was said to be bewitched- did he recognize it as Antimony's upon entering? Antimony is the only one affected by the loop, clearly, as Calloway is now older. My question is, why didn't it affect both of them? Since the reason the loop was created was Antimony seemingly trying to go back in time to save Calloway from the crash, wouldn't they both be affected? How did Calloway not know? Did Antimony stop coming out completely? If so, when? How long has this been going on? Did Calloway never check up on Antimony? Was there a breakup or somethjng that caused them to stop interacting? AAAAA SO MANY QUESTIONS

I’m not sure but my guess as for why he didn’t recognize him is because he’s been trapped in the time loop, he thinks that he didn’t save Calloway. That might have just seemed like a failed attempt when he woke up

I'm able to work on it in a way I'd never be able to do art and animation; if I had to do animation for a job, I'd utterly despise it. if you want to go into arch or another creative field, just think about what you're willing to work on everyday for money haha

atlasofgalaxies but why did he leave him there? When the fire broke the loop, did it maybe burn whatever essence was keeping anti in it that made him maybe “vanish” in Calloway’s point of view? As in maybe he turned invisible to the him once the loop was broken.. or maybe he managed to find someone else to love within the time they were separated, and just treated it as a duty thing to free his ex lover before parting ways..

@@Pixiewolf Oh. Calloway is from the future. In this future, he is with Antimony romantically. He leaves Antimony at the House of Memories so Antimony could live out the past that leads to Calloway's future with him. In the end, Calloway leaves to return to his future. Does that make sense? In the description, our wonderful animator has more on the two!

Basically, the house is burned so maybe the loop is destroyed BUT it burned exactly 12:00 so there is a small (though, personally, I think the loop did end because the witch boy stuck in it loses the purple smoke thing that surrounds him) but anyway you might theorize that because it was 12:00, the loop continues and the burning wouldn't happen yada yada.

I've been watching the animatic over and over again. You more than did this song justice, you made something better. You did such a fantastic job hitting all the cues-the place where the music kicks in, the place where it slows down, the final chorus and the fire-everything had the perfect degree of intensity, and the transitions joined them together so smoothly. Every image conveyed the emotion and the story so clearly. I'll be remembering this for a long time, after just four minutes of wordless characters I've never seen or been attached to before now. I wish there was more of this story!
