the way Christon Cole is written is great in my opinion: he seems like the kind of man that is not happy he got away with doing something wrong, he tried to take "responsibility" for his action with Rhaenyra in the worst possible way and she rejected his proposal and proposed that he becomes her concubine( at least in his eyes) which lowered his self worth in his mind even more. he then went and confessed to the queen and practically begged her to kill him, fully willing to die and she rejected him as well making him feel even more worthless as even his death is not good enough as atonement. the final nail in the coffin was when Laenor boyfriend came up to him and told him "your part of this. now, lets work together to lie to everyone kay?" all this bubbled to the surface which led him to beating the very same man to death in a fit of rage later on. self loathing, crushed by guilt, dishonored and feeling worthless he attempt to take his own life(this is just my interpretation of his character of course)

Alicent thinks it's Rhaenyra's fault that Otto was unjustly fired from his position. But little did she know that it was only the last straw that broke Viserys' complete trust in his judgment. The truth is much more complicated. Viserys' suspicions of Otto were not unwarranted: - Otto assigned Daemon to be in the City Watch so that he wouldn't be part of the Small Council and further strain his relationship with Viserys - Viserys recalled to the strange death of a strong and healthy Baelon Targaryen, which led to Otto being the Hand. - We've seen Melos and other maesters are likely working with Otto. So it puts all Aemma's "failed" pregnancies into question. Even Viserys current treatment is suspect as of this episode. Melos claims that the king finds relief in the treatment, but he doesn't get any better. Viserys wasn't exactly lacking in his efforts to produce an heir. It even led to the death of his queen. But it makes me wonder how unlucky the most powerful man on Westeros must be to have several potential heirs and a queen die until Alicent came along.

I love how the show just doesn't paint everything as black and white. There's huge swatches of grey all throughout this series storytelling. Im beginning to understand Otto's motives more and more. He even anticipated what someone as a good-hearted as Rhaenyra will be force to do to consolidate power and quell any rebellions. Rhaenyra has openly told him that she wishes the Seven Kingdoms will accept her as their true queen. He knows that. Yet, he demands that she leave everything behind, renounce her claim, so that *he* can breathe easy?? She is telling him that he can keep his post, remain with her, and they can still be together despite her marriage. He could have accepted that. First, with Rhaenyra, I think that her saying that she would essentially 'keep' him as her side piece even after her marriage, meaning that their night meant less to her than him. I think he would have handled it better if she broke it off entirely. Then, all the guilt of oathbreaking for essentially nothing weighed down on him, and from then on, he's emotionally unstable. Then, when Alicent called for him, he just cracked, and everything spilled out. Him beating Joffrey to death might have been a culmination of all his frustrations, when Joffrey just let an emotionally unstable man know that he knew his darkest secret, just like Rhaenyra took out all of her frusteration on the boar in the third episode.

The British royal house has a family name. Windsor. When Elizabeth the second married Prince Phillip, he needed to understand and accept upon marriage that his title was Prince consort (You're right, being King puts him above in rank against Elizabeth and brings confusion.) and that the children will be styled after the house of Winsdor; for security and continuim of the royal bloodline. Consort refers to the party who married the royal bloodline. It's so everyone knows who and what their roles and powers are. Titles change based on rank but certain ranks are guaranteed like being born from a sovereigns legitimate marriage.

The only thing that would motivate Rhaenyra to harm Alicent's children would be direct, indisputable danger or harm to Rhaenyra's own kids. I hate the way Otto has boxed Alicent into this cage of paranoia with children she's terrified will be killed by their sister after her husband dies. If he'd put all that energy into finding Alicent a good husband who was not a Targaryen, they'd all be happier.

The show makers have already told us they changed some of the book to make the show much more interesting. One huge example is Daemon wife actually did have a accident fell off her horse and lived like 11 days afterwards never saying anything about Daemon making the horse or hurting her. Considering she hated him it would of been the first thing out of her mouth. So basically Daemon didn't murder his wife the show decided to show he might of effected her death then it even showed him walk away pick up a rock yet left without showing us if he finished her off. Once again they said its more interesting to the viewer then she just died by accident. One rumor is perhaps Daemon hired someone to kill her but its not written at all in the book it was accident. 2nd thing I notice is Sir Cole actually killed that guy in the tourney while waiting for the wedding he still kill the man intentionally because of his anger but it wasn't the same way as the show. They made it way more clear why he wanted to kill that man. So to be clear Daemon didn't kill his wife according to the book up to this point of the show he totally loves his niece she loves him its why he gave her a necklace and she wore it all the time up to him leaving hot and bothered you notice she took it off right after that event. Then at the wedding dinner told him to take me make me your wife she meant it 100% !! Again even in this show he never did anything to murder her in the show he pushed her to reach back for her weapon she then lost control of the horse then fell off she was going to die did he hit her with a rock maybe or just walked up to her and dropped it because he didn't have to finish her off. The show did that part perfectly because he actually odds are didn't kill her!~

The Canadian Royal Family has a House, it's the same as in GOT and always was, the House that unified England for instance was the House of Wessex. The only difference is that they don't use their House's name as surnames, but the House changes depending on the paternal line. Queen Victoria I was from the House of Hanover, but the Royal House changed when her son became King, he was from his father's House, the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha which is the current Royal House with a different name, changed to Windsor during the WWI because the UK was in war against Germany and the House Royal was German. When Elizabeth II married Philip, their children were supposed to be from Phillip's House, but Churchill insisted they kept Windsor as the Royal house so Elizabeth wrote a Royal decree or something and Charles is currently King Charles III of Windsor or in fact Charles III of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Nowadays the Royal doesn't marry other nobles, William is married to a peasant, and the succession laws were changed in 2011 so the eldest child regardless of gender becomes the Monarch, therefore House Windsor will probably be the Royal House from now on.

In truth, I'm not even sure whose side I'm on anymore. Rhaeneyra has been proving the realm right the last couple of episodes in being dubious about her. Again, I go back to what Viserys said, "Consolidate your claim" pretty sure that means more than just marry. And making 'fuck me' eyes at your uncle during your wedding after her initial scandal was just... I mean.. dumb. I know that Alicent came at Rhaeneyra with a very accusatory fashion, but to be fair, what she was accused of wasn't a small thing. Like they made it clear that what she did could put her succession at risk, so naturally her friend was pissed. And Rhaeneyra just said whatever she had to say to get out of trouble. So far, I can't be on her side, she's been immensely selfish so far. And I don't blame everyone for thinking she would be a chaotic queen. Again, her making eyes at her uncle in front of everyone pretty much sends one message, they both don't care at all what the realm thinks and wants. If the realm was scared of having Daemon, then they see Rhaeneyra doing the same, if not worse, things then they would probably hate the idea of either being the ruler. It really speaks to the writing on how everyone is now cheering for Viserys not to die. If he holds out then he can maintain the peace long enough for the successions to be solidified. However, he alone cannot consolidate the claims of his heirs and Rhaeneyra just doesn't care. In my opinion. Honestly, Rhaeneyra is a tough one for me. Sure, I love her spunk. But that aside, she's become very selfish as the story progressed. And I try not to be too harsh on her with some of her choices, but she's actively made her own succession a nightmare for everyone around her. Despite this, I think Viserys is going to keep his word. Which, in my opinion, was still his biggest mistake, promising her that. It nearly gave her a blank check to do whatever she wanted and she's been cashing it in recently. I hope her character takes a turn, so I can root for her. But it's hard when I look at Cole. I honestly think he's on his way to become one of the more tragic characters. Sure, you can call him and idiot for what he did. But I think it's a little easy to forget perspective. She gives him the highest position of his family's history and then effectively uses him. Cause as much as his body may have wanted to do have sex with her, pretty sure he wasn't completely consenting and wasn't really allowed to say no. Then he offers her an out that will free her of her role that she always tells him that she loathes(and yes, he's scared and ashamed of what he did). Then he insults him further with what she implied. Then he's expected to take it like a "man" and not feel what he's feeling. And ultimately chooses to protect Rhaeneyra in the only way he knows how(I mean, he's a common born. The other guy knew her secret. That's on less problem. In his mind, no political games could shut this guy up. So, imma kill him.) And the guy is suicidal now. Basically. I feel for him deeply. So far, I think I'm siding with Allicent. I know you guys don't think Rhaeneyra would kills her kids to solidify her claim. But I wouldn't be too sure. Right now, no. I don't think she's actively thinking of how to kill them. But Otto was right in the respect that the realm will do anything to not have have Rhaeneyra as their queen(and it's no longer just cause she's a Woman. May have started as that, but now they have plenty of more reasons.) So, with the whole realm pushing for Allicent's son to be the new heir, do you really think that Rhaeneyra wouldn't consider it after so much insistence? I think she's capable of considering it at the very least. And if she's capable of that, I think Allicent is being mother by already considering Rhaeneyra a threat. Plus, Rhaeneyra has been shown to lie to get out of trouble. So, any promises have almost no weight to them anymore(I promise on my dead mother). Unless the show throws me a curveball, I think I'm siding with Alicent. I think she's trusting her family cause they are literally the only people who are transparent with her. I thought it was a pretty cool scene when she entered, but maybe a little premature. I hope her and Rhaeneyra become compelling in their own right, so I can root for both of them. But so far, Alicent the mother and queen is the one I'm siding with.. No idea how this Rollercoaster will end, but excited to know more of your and everyone's thoughts. It's a compelling narrative.

Why would be war if Rheynira would be queen, Stark Baratheon and Lannister swore fealty, valeryon are on her side, the only ones against it are hightowers, he is just trying to play victim in front of her daughter and manipulating her making her to believe there are only 2 options, either Aegon is king or Rheynira is queen and she is killing her children.
@finalarbitrator45512 жыл бұрын
@@andreihorodniceanu6541 Swearing fealty means nothing to those who don't honour it. They just do it for the time being, when the King is alive. Besides those who had swore fealty died by the time Rhaenyra grew up. Let alone the lords, even the common masses would be against her because they don't consider that position to belong to a woman. The realm would not accept her, just like they didn't accept Rhaenys. Otto is not trying to play victim at all. He is being brutally honest and practical about the reality of the world they live in. Even if there somehow wasn't a war immediately after she ascended the throne, seeds of dissent in the realm would always grow as long as Aegon was alive, since that is his rightful place and all of Targaryen history shows it. There would be only one way for Rhaenyra to cement her claim to the throne, and that is by killing or banishing Aegon. It's just the truth. And Rhaenyra is power hungry, egotistical and she didn't like Aegon from the day he was born anyway.

It's amazing how so many are feeling outraged on Allicent's behalf, considering that she had lied by omission to Rhaenerys about her initial relationship with Vicerys. I realize she had instructed not to tell anyone, but Allicent could have (and should have) told Rhaenerys. Both women are guilty of lying to one another.
