Meleys is a she dragon, she is nicknamed the Red Queen because of her scarlet red scales and is the fastest dragon. :) Also, if she did light them up at that moment, there wouldn't be a dance of the dragons haha. She was just not going to killof her family and the new king. It would've made her a Kingslayer and a Kinslayer. She did choose sides at this moment though, and she gave them a war cry warning with her dragon. It was basically a declaration of war. Her killing all the people with her dragon was also unavoidable because she had to break Meleys out of the overcrowded dragon pit to escape and all these people were in the way.

One thing that they do well with Aemonds character is he was always ready to do his duty, and will do things by the book. He’s a second son so he won’t take the throne forcefully, won’t spill blood under a roof etc. so the fact that he kills Luke accidentally makes more sense than anything (many thought not due to the book but even in the book no one knew just thought so because they knew they both flew off) but knowing he won’t want to be weak he’ll most likely take the fall

Alicent's misunderstanding of King Viserys' last words weren't the "final step" to war, I don't think; as we see, the Council had been planing in detail this for some time. It might have been a personal motivation for Alicent, but overall Viserys' alleged last words were just extra fuel to the fire.

it was a silly badly written episode ... none of it was logical nor made any sense ... all these houses would have had armies and families that would retaliate, same as lanisters or Starks in the game of thrones ... its what made them powerhouses ... Head of Houses being cornered like some common peasants by a Hand who after kings death had no actual power was ridiculous and silly ... Particularly after king making a public announcement and asking all noblkes to be swarn .... then that ridicoulous ending ... wtf was that except it looked good and dramatic??? why would she kill thousands of innocent civilians and then do nothing to actual userpers ! when you rewatch the size of that explosion in the hall it looks like she killed everyone inside the hall .... just bad writing

After reading comments online I will say the biggest error of a still awesome scene is that Sunfyre (Aegons dragon) wasn't there behind Aegon. Would make sense as a attempt to prove his legitimacy and since Sunfyre is smaller the threat would still be there.

If you go back to episode 6 where Alicent and Larys first had dinner, after which he left to go kill his father and brother, you will notice that Alicent removes her shoes when she sits down to the table with him. It wasn’t anything that seemed to merit attention prior to this episode. At the time I just thought maybe it was representing that her feet were tired after a long day. But after this episode it does make you wonder. It seems a little early in their relationship for anything to be happening around that. But it was rather odd that she was having a private dinner with him in the first place considering that she is the queen.

I have 4 kids and as far as Westeros goes., I have shown scenes from both shows to my 12 year old and have watched the entire series with my 2 oldest who are 16 and 18. The violence doesn't bother me as much as the sex scenes as a parent, which I find weird when I actually think about it. I guess it all depends on how u were raised and the kids maturity level. Every kid is different and u have to judge for yourself if they are ready or not although I am pretty progressive as far as my parenting goes. A lot of people don't agree with me but I would rather give my kids as much honesty and real world facts then keep them sheltered. The more knowledge a kid has the better equipped they are to deal with the world.

I was blown away by the details in the coronation. It felt like watching Nicholas II being crowned in an Orthodox ceremony with all the hollow pomp & circumstance of a rotting system. It's what I'd always envisioned from a GoT coronation. Tom Glynn-Carney was terrific in bringing out Aegon's fear, hesitation, pride & euphoria all at once. I'm glad they kept much despised Criston putting the Conqueror's crown on Aegon II's head. The Kingmaker is born! What this show's doing exceptionally well is the details, down to locking up servants. Usually the passionate debates, the sense of treachery, the heartbreak are glossed over & we only see the regime change as a "fait accompli". This brings to life the mechanism that historically goes behind a coup, which I assume is as emotionally taxing for the people seizing power. That's why I like agonized & conflicted Alicent more than her steadfast source counterpart. It's more flesh & blood. She vacillates but her messianic fear for her children fates her to make a cursed gamble. *Jokes aside, Tfw u support our Green Lives Matter King for the extermination of Strong Boys cause ur pro Valeryian blood supremacy.*

Firstly kudos to past me for catching last week's easter egg #prophecy of "BEWARE THE BEAST BENEATH THE BOARDS"😂 Shout out to Helaena, she seems like the audience's 4th wall breaking guide constantly hinting at what is to come. I'm paying close attention🧐 to EVERYTHING she says and does now lol. In this week's #prophecy/criptic message she said (as she embroidered a #beetle 🕷 on some cloth), "It is our fate l think, to crave always what is given to another. IF ONE POSSESS A THING(birthright?throne?power?) THE OTHER WILL TAKE IT AWAY." This one is quite vague because "the other" can be anyone. Perhaps she is hinting at some future backstabbing coming between the Targaryen brothers because Aemond was looking power hungry and thirsty for his brother's crown. Sidenote: When Helaena was asked who took Aegon, she dropped her head down and stared intently at the beetle 🕷 symbol she was embroidering, the same beetle symbol l think we see later carved on the walking stick of Lord Larys (that creepy handicapped foot fetish dude subscribed to the queen's feet onlyfans🤣). Could he be the #metaphorical "#beast🍆 beneath the boards" or was the Dragon the #literal #beast beneath their symposium(board)? Or perhaps both? I wonder what this new information entails.🤔

There were multiple flash backs where she was shown to be twisted as a youth on film and in the books. She and Alicent are both stuck in the loop of how far will you go to continue to cover up the evil you have done..... for Cersai there was no limit....I fear for Alicent , she has already reached the point of no return and the Greens have already laid the ground work for their demise.

Rhaenys took the moral high ground. She doesn't use dragonfire to murder the greens because it would be wrong. (Peasants are just ants beneath the feet of the dragons). She's going to come back with a whole flight of other dragons and help Rhaenyra take the Throne (rightfully).

which is why it's bad writing, why would the writers even put her in that situation where people will associate the coming death and bloodshed to her when rhaenys could have just stopped this before it began. unnecessary scene for the sake of fan service. we would still have season 2 if that scene didn't happen and continued with what happened in the books even with a few liberties.

I wish people would give proper explanation as to how Alicent is so bad in this show? What truly has she done wrong? She wants her son to be King however she hasn't killed anyone to make that happen. She even goes against her father wanting to kill Rhaenyra. In fact all she ever speaks about is wanting peace. IDK fans of this show are a weird bunch. They say Alicent is evil or the worst yet they adore Daemon smh

“What is the process of that relationship?” If I wrote it, it would have started because Alicent noticed his interest in her feet and tried to use it to squeeze him for info. Larys plays along but then turns it around on her. Before long, she has to show him the toes to get any real help. That’s appropriate for Westeros.

Talking about kids watching “inappropriate” movies, when I was a little kid in the eighties, my favorite movies included Alien/Aliens, the original Night of the Living Dead (the first movie we rented on our first VCR in 1985), and my three favorite Arnold movies, Conan, Predator and Terminator (the first one; I was in middle school when T2 dropped). And of course certain other adult movies ended up being adapted for and specifically marketed to kids, like Robocop and Rambo. Hell, even Ghostbusters has a few iffy moments. So I don’t worry about it too much.

@Anhkriva there was another one apart from Harwin? Because if you're talking about Daemon, their marriage and kids are legitimate since Laenor's dead (at least in everyone's mind). Besides, Laenor gave them a go-ahead with the children. Sure they're bastards but if she hadn't had them, it would have been a big blackmark on an already questionable reputation. Imagine being the first (is she the first?) official female heir but not being able to continue the royal line; Otto and the Hightower allies, especially Jason Lannister would have come for her throat And yes, her relationships were healthy considering her environment. It doesn't look like she used her power to manipulate Harwin like she did with Criston and she let him had have a relationship with the children. A saving fireman carry during her betrothal ceremony, the acknowledging smirk during the hunt and the letting her continue her fun during her night out is a sort of basis for their chemistry but relationships are built on less in GoT verse. Daemon on the other hand is her equal in every way. They could try and fail to manipulate the other but they don't

@@anhkriva5274 Rhaenyra lost her virginity to Cole, whom she thought she could trust. Not her fault the guy is a conflicted, repressive, aggressive jerk. She then married Leanor and accepted his sexual orientation, reached a consensual agreement to open marriage and found a partner in Harwin. You can try an diminish her kids, but those kids were born of a loving relationship and loving blended family. That is why they are much better kids than Alicent’s legitimate ones. Harwin dies and Rhaenyra marries Daemon. What is so horrible about what I just described. If you think that makes Rhaenyra a whore you are an idiot. Meanwhile, Alicent is doing something with her body that makes her uncomfortable, by choice and to get something in return. She is purposely doing something she thinks is reprehensible. 17:00 l suspect Lary's his #foot #fetish is a coping mechanism tied to his foot disability/trauma. I surmise that the same thing that was used to overlook & ostracise him (feet) is the same thing he is now actively perverting. It's perhaps his weird way of balancing the scales by bringing the most powerful women's feet down to his feet's level of respect/disrespect/treatment/objectification. His feet were used to cause him #pain and made him look #weak, now subconsciously/consciously, he is trying to reverse his pain impulse by repurposing feet as something that GIVES him #pleasure and #power instead of #trauma... The psychology is perhaps that if the queen's feet mean nothing to him but a cheep thrill then surely his own disabled legs aren't less than anyone else's... It's a taking of his Ego's "power" back by perverting another Ego's dignity (like was done to him), thus bringing everyone to his level.

Book knowledge: Viserys is found dead at the beginning of the night (not morning) by a servant who got him a 'cup of hippocras' (some kind of sweet wine) every evening. That gave the green council the whole night to figure out what to do without having to deal with the court yet, and a week passes before they finally give Viserys a proper burial (his body was kept in his room the whole time, gross) and crown Aegon (without having Melys crash through the dragon pit, but the episode needed the vfx dragon action anyway) oh and if we needed further proof Criston is demented: there is is

The ending scene really did a good job of depicting the expendability of the subjects in the eyes of the ruling class and how they hold even other rulers who are enemies above their own peasants. Its not even a phenomenon exclusive to monarchy or dictatorships its the same for democratically elected leaders. Even they are content to condemn waves of their own civilians and soldiers to their deaths when fighting while at the same time being very careful to not directly attack harm or kill each other. Its actually quite sinister and obscene.

I believe the reason why Rhaenys didn't Dracarys them all is that she knows this isn't her place, this isn't her battle. Like she said, she must stand alone. She isn't the greens' enemy, she isn't the one who's wronged by them by crowning Aegon. Plus, she's still reeling from the loss of her children. She possibly can't do the same to Alicent.

I don't think she could've left another way. Meleys' lair would've had two entrances, yes, but they would've been heavily guarded and both her and her dragon would've been vulnerable. She needed the element of surprise to get past the guards. RIP to the poor people, obviously, but given the coming civil war, this quick death is better than some of what's to come for those people.

Thoughts: Why Rhaenyra did not roast the Entire coronation party? Rhaenyra acknowledged Alicent's gesture; placing Aegon behind her, Alicent is willingly accepting death while protecting her son. Alicent never liked what she has to do in order to learn Larys information but after Rhaenyra spoke her truth, Alicent views the power dynamics between her and Larys in quite a different light.

This episode would make Georges happy. So many gardeners, planting seeds all over the place (some even spreading their own seeds...) And about that Tarantino scene, it's actually quite the opposite. The power play is from Larys, who has the queen tangled in his web, after having killed his own family "on her wish" so that her father could resume his post of Hand of the King, so he has that mighty Damocles sword over her head should he reveal this news to the public. He's one of the numerous men she has to serve, despites being the queen, and he's most definitely the creepiest prison that she has to find a way to escape from. Rhaenys, on the other hand is the only one in the entire episode who actually showed her how a powerful queen should look like, serving as an inspiration to take a stand for herself (which she did twice, first against her father after Rhaenys planted the seed of being queen for herself, second by protecting her son against a dragon, which impressed even Rhaenys, who's lost her 2 children, and who was just one word away to barbecue them all).
