He’s just the outcome of a first born son who was skipped over the first time in 10,000 years of Westeros over his older sister who is father clearly prefers. Aegon ii the magnanimous

@aj897 you know, if you do 1 + 1, that equals 2 sometimes. Do the math and you will figure out. As per your comment, yes, the answer is "las Vegas". Let me know if there is something else I can do for you. Your sister says hi 👋.

Well he was offering up all his rape victims kids to a fighting ring. Now when one who would've secured his narcissistic 'legacy' is dead he's upset. Yeah, he's a psychopath. He's just far more interesting than Joffery. He's not a cartoonish interpretation of one. He's got Mommy issues and he's quick to rage and bloodlust. If you're already asking this question... he's just getting started.

I would say he's more of a sociopath than psychopath (still bad) since he's impulsive with his actions/decision without regarding how it may affect other (ex: Him raping Dyana, what he did to the rat catchers in seasons 2) and is emotional.

@@bleachparty8570 Maybe. I feel like I do have to clarify it is not just Dyana. He has a history of violence and rape. Even the show had a shot of a kid who was already 4-5 in the pit. There have been many. I would argue his lack of empathy is a clear sign. Caring about himself isn't a determining factor and the only emotions he's truly shown was crying in the latest episode. Which, again, was ultimately about himself. I'd say he's quite able to function as his role as King which a sociopath would struggle with. Otto's rant would've sent someone more sociopathic into a fit of rage. It didn't. He was still calculating and discerning with his decisions to oust Otto. Which is why I see him as more of psychopath.

You’ll need to take into account the criticism to the system itself. Aegon is awful to his bastards because Westeros itself is awful to bastards and small folk. The nobles seem themselves higher up than the small folk and that dehumanize them in the noble’s eyes. Never mind a Targaryen prince (look for the “Doctrine of Exceptionalism” by Jaehaerys I that they used to justify incest and absolute power over the 7 kingdoms, well actually just 6 in this time period) who also was neglected by his father (either intentionally or not, we can’t deny that Viserys was severely ill), and abused by her mother both physically and psychologically on his forming years. Just as TGC, I see Aegon as an empath (maybe like his father Viserys), raised and broken by Westerosi society and family (specifically the Hightowers) where such men are seen as weak and worthless, adding a massive bag of insecurities to this young guy who didn’t even want to be a politician, but forced to this role either way because he was born with a penis, resulting in him trying to prove his “manliness” through bullying (specifically towards Aemond, first just because he is older than him, but now he seems to feel threatened around his warrior, “cooler” brother) and horrendous acts towards common women, which Westeros already dehumanize them as a default. Also, remember that Aegon hates himself, he doesn’t feel loved by anyone due to mentioned neglect and abuse. He himself doesn’t think that he is fit to rule. These dark acts are all a manifestation of his deepest thoughts, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as he is indeed not fit to rule, and has no justification for what he has done. Now, as an insecure king with “impostor syndrome,”(though technically not the syndrome as he is truly an impostor lol) he’s defaulting into glorifying warfare and externalizing his deep grief into more acts of violence with stupid, rash decisions into that class of people that the royals see as less human than them (even the Blacks think this way, except for maybe Daemon). I really like the complexity that this actor and show has brought to the character, as I don’t see him as a psychopath or sociopath. He still has a lot of empathy, it is just severely twisted by his abysmally low self esteem in a position of great-to-absolute power, hiding behind a cocky, dim-witted personality and a guy unable to intimately connect with a woman, his family, or anyone, lacking the security to share his true feelings. This is what transforms him into an awful human being with great vindictiveness and impulsivity, with repressed feelings translating into anger, resentment and despair
