Arryk with an ”A” is on Aegon’s (with an A) side. That’s how I remember it.

Stunning episode. I love how the actors are getting a chance to show the repressed sides of their characters. Man!

Absolutely. Rhys Ifans is one of the best parts of the show.

Tom Glynn-Carney is also great (and playing a very different character) in the WW2 BBC/Epix series SAS:Rogue Heroes.

Peak television episode. Dialogue acting writing tying up loose ends from 1st episode perfect imo. How can anyone watch Star Wars then watch this and watch Star Wars ever again?

Possible spoiler... I believe that the riderless dragon belonged to Rhaenyra's (sp.?) first husband, Leanore. It looked like Seasmoke to me, but I could be wrong.

Such a fucking beautiful & awesome episode but I honestly think it was a mistake to not mention Daeron earlier in the series.

Strong episode, so fr I'm liking this season more than season 1 which makes sense as things escalate. The scene between Rhaenyra and Daemon was my favorite, a lot of things that needed to be said were said there. I just wish this was a different universe from GOT, because they butchered everything halfway through and it loses weight everytime I think of it as the same universe. I've only read the book co-written by Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson so I know very little of this story, but I'm very interested to see it. Thank you for the review man and keep up the passion.

A great episode, but maybe not sideline your top actor. I swear, Sara Hess hates Daemon. I do hope he gets sone decent time next week. That whining done, the Otto scenes are standouts for me. I hope they cut to Old Town for a few scenes.

Spoiler: Hopefully Hugh will start to become more villainous once he meets with Ulf, who I’m sure will be pretty much the same as his book counterpart

I love those two dudes in the book. They could be real highlights for the show if adapted properly.

I dunno seems like some contradictions. Since when is the love of the peasants of king's landing so important? How he's perceived by other houses and powerful figures sure but I can't imagine they'd give a shit about hanging rat catchers.

Very good. I liked this episode more than ep1 which wasn't a bad episode by any means. Such tight writing and excellent acting. Fully agree on Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon. I was worried they were going to Joffrey him lol but no, a very different and more nuanced character.

Now this was a great episode! The dialogue, the writing, the drama! That fight scene was amazing! I had to get up and walk around. So good! The cold war is going to get hot very soon! Yeah, the show has to be every year. No more two year breaks.

I agree with you in wanting to see bad characters allowed to be bad. Nothing makes "grey" characters less interesting than having every single character be "grey."

So well written. So much time taken with character development and all the small details (the rat catcher’s dog looking up at his hanged master. The royal carriage wheel stuck in a rut). Yet still moving the plot forward.

Fabien Frankel’s performance👋👋. he has a one dimensional character and the writing limits his range but the man is carrying that character in his shoulders and pretty its only saving grace. Not since Jack Gleeson have you ever respected an actor for making you despise a character with a passion.

I guess I am the only person with a dissenting opinion. I believe the show is well written, but I can't say I am excited about the direction it has taken, specifically with its female characters. In "Game of Thrones," the female characters were layered, complex, and powerful. Even in a world dominated by brute physicality, powerful women demanded respect. Characters like Cersei, Melisandre, Dany, Sansa, Arya, Ygritte, Catelyn, and Brienne were cunning, dangerous, righteous, chivalrous, ruthless, funny, and evil, among other traits. When I watch "House of the Dragon," all of the female characters lack agency and personality. They all seem to be the same whiny and dull characters who let things happen to them instead of making things happen. It seems that the running theme is "listen to the women," but the show is careful not to let the women, mainly Rhaenyra, Alicent, Rhaenys, and now Mysaria, ever make a real mistake or seem to have an evil bone in their bodies. All of their faults seem to come back to some guy. Overall, it is still a great show, but this is just something I've noticed from last season and so far this season that's a little disappointing for me.

Targaryens are horrible Politicians. Neither side is fit to rule. Young Rhaenerya was smart, clever, knew how to defuse tense situations. Adult Rhaenerya is slow, boring, takes herself too seriously, barely has control over her own side of the family and a horrible politician. Aegon II is prisoner of his family’s doing. Politically the Hightowers are the weasels of Westeros. They can spin anything. They have the military might but not tactical. They’re their own worst enemy.

There are very few people throughout human history who were complete villains. Most people have backstories, and their actions are reactions to the situations thrust upon them. I'm much more interested in the shades of grey than in the comicbook mustache-twirling stereotypical villains.
