It always seemed to me that Matt smith and Milly Alock had better chemistry and screen presence as compared to Emma D'arcy. It was a nice moment watching Milly again on the show for a cameo appearance

For me, Rhaenyra going to Westeros to meet Alicent was the best thing that happened to the show. We need to understand that the book was written from a third perspective. People who wrote the book were not present at the moment, writers of the book took accounts of people who were present there and wrote a version of their own. The meeting between Rhaenyra and Alicent was secret, so it's logical why it was not in the book. Rhaenyra wanted to end the war before it started, and she thought Alicent had the power to end it, but when she talked to Alicent, Rhaenyra realized that Alicent had no control over the council. The WAR is inevitable. And Alicent didn't kill Rhaenyra because she never wanted to kill her. They both are mothers who have lost children because of this conflict. They both knew the meaning of loss and were looking for an amicable solution. The men want to fight, they want to show their strength and power. George RR Martin said that Dance of the Dragons is not about which side wins, it's a tragedy where everyone loses.

Sry bro i thing it's a dumb move from Rhenrya to go kingslanding to talk Alicent. I mean what power does Alicent hold, i mean if some one can take any decision it's Aegon & definately she can't meet him then she needs to try to meet Otto. Plus she don't give any proposal like why Aegon should step down, she just went & told her that his father want's her heir. Like we are not living in GRRM world but in some fairy tale. This action really made her look fool. She really sounds fool when she think that Aegon bend his knee after Blood & Cheese. And alicent appears even more dumb that she has one in a million chance to stop the war by capturing rhenrya & what she has done just left. So Alicent does not want war but also don't want to capture rhenrya but she wants Rhenrya & Daemon to bend knees and accept Aegon as King.

But we can even neglect those but how can u explain why alicent let rhernya go… I mean what alicent really wants is out of my mind. Also i think rhernya even misinterpreted viserys last words wrong in which ig he was talking about prince who was promised (Jon Snow) but she thinks name Aegon which is mentioned is of Aegon the Conqueror & that promised prince is she herself …

8:30 Rhaenyra going to Kingslanding in secret is not mentioned in the books because it was a SECRET and not known to the Maesters who wrote the book. And IMO showrunners added this scene to make Alicent realize that Viserys actually did not want Aegon to be King and it was just a misunderstanding. So, Alicent may persuade her sons in the following episodes to try and avoid violent war and destruction and make peace with the Blacks as far as possible. That clearly explains why Alicent is being undermined by both their sons in the trailer and her trying to make peace with the Blacks could be the reason.
