I'm a month into owning and learning a mandolin. Thank you for this, Mike. I know I should learn scales and arpeggios and all sorts of other things before I'll be even somewhat proficient, but knowing a song or 2, that I can play with my more musically inclined friends is huge to me. And the flourishes will come with experience and practice.

You'll be a lot more inclined to learn scales and arpeggios if you've learned a few songs and are having fun. It sounds like you're on the right track. Keep picking. - Mike

The tab that's on the screen indicates what frets your fingers should be on. Keep pickin'. - Mike
