House of the Vampire

A wealthy widower and his children discover a long hidden secret in their manor.
my second movie and an homage to Hammer Films of the 1970s. it was filmed in the Juliana District of Parkersburg West Virginia and McConnelsville Ohio over about a week in 2020 for just over $2k with actors from across Ohio and one volunteer assistant.
i've always liked the look of Hammer films and wanted to walk around in a victorian mansion, old family graveyards and camp it up with low tech fx and after watching a Hammer film on Svengoolie, i wrote the script and we shot the dream sequence three months later in June then waited til late october and november to do the rest to get that bleak look.
trivia-
the front of the manor, the backyard of the manor, the interior, the basement and the side yard were all different locations just to make it look like one location for the house. also, we filmed one of the killings on Halloween night and the sound had to be added later because there were trick or treaters walking by and stopping to watch and talk to us. ha

This is really evocative of the 1970s Hammer films. A very valiant crack at a well-to-do English accent as well as these aren’t the easiest. I look forward to more of these😊

thank you, chesham. recreating the Hammer esthetic as best as i could was the goal. i didn't want to do just another vampire movie. my actors will be grateful for your compliment on their accents and i've definately considered a prequel or sequel. i'm glad you enjoyed it.
