House of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus-Turkey

The House of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic and Muslim shrine located on Mt. Koressos in the vicinity of Ephesus, Turkey. The house was discovered in the 19th century by following the descriptions in the reported visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824), a paralyzed German Roman Catholic nun and visionary, which were published as a book by Clemens Brentano after her death. One of Emmerich's accounts was a description of the house the Apostle John had built in Ephesus for Mary, the mother of Jesus, where she had lived to the end of her life.
Archaeologists who have examined the building believe most of the building dates from the 6th or 7th century but its foundations are much older and may well date from the 1st century AD, the time of Mary. The Catholic Church has never come out in favor or against the authenticity of the house, but nevertheless maintains a steady flow of pilgrims since its discovery.

This video reminds of the true story of a baker in a small Italian town. One day he pulls a random loaf of bread out out of his oven to discover that it had baked into the crust what looked like an image of the Virgin Mary. In his excitement, he ran into the street to show others this "miracle loaf". The town people also agreed that was a "miracle", a sign from God that such a Holy Loaf would suddenly appear in their humble little Italian town. So together they took it to the local Catholic church, where the parish priest was equally stunned, surprised and impressed that God would bestow upon them such miraculous image of The Blessed Virgin baked into the crust of a simple loaf of bread. The priest as well as the other town people who were so suddenly converted to this "Bread Cult" even built a special altar to house this "miracle loaf" in this local parish, and in coming months the town even organized Holy Processions that solemnly displayed for all, both far and wide, this sacred culinary image. In the end, however, this "miracle loaf" slowly disappeared, as any common loaf of bread would decay over time. In the end, the people in that small Italian town were only left with a pile of stale bread crumbs, and their memories of the day that The Lord blessed them with such a miraculous loaf of bread !!! . I had the good fortune of going there while I was stationed near Istanbul, Turkey during the years 1966-67. As I recall, there is a gushing spring of fresh water coming forth from the ground almost next to the house. I also became aware of a powerful presence, a palpable energy in the whole area around and in the house. It felt like a holy place to me.

I had the fortunate bless of visiting the house of THE BLESSED MOTHER, during my Mediterranean Cruise in 1968. Praying and drinking of the water I asked her for some personal blessing, all of which came to pass, it was truly an amazing experience one which in my opinion would say impossible, THANK YOU BLESSED MOTHER !

Myself and my wife visited the house and shrine a few years ago we entered and u felt peaceful as we exited the house I noticed my wife was crying and I teased her for it. I was their in 1968 and you could feel a presence of peace and a beautiful power. I drank from the well making a prayer to benefit me and thought it would never, ever come true since it was something I really hoped for personally. On our departure from our 6 month deployment cruise to the Mediterranean Sea we received several commands all of which lead to full filling all that I asked the Blessed Virgin for, ALL, EVERYONE, and the nature of my request was difficult and impossible in my eyes to ever happen, but they did.

I have visited here. Opposite is the archeological site of Ephesus visited by several of the Apostles and by St Paul. Gospels were written here in the great library. Paul visited to quell and stabilise the frequent fallings out amongst the Jewish, Gentile and pagan newly converted to Christianity. Mary’s traveled and lived in this area, taken by John and James after the crucifixion as Jerusalem had become an unsafe place for the followers of Jesus. What is so wonderful about this place is how the tiny church dedicated to the Holy Mother is revered and loved my many religions. I attended Mass there with Jews, Muslims Buddhist and pagans.
