House Strong are in fact one of the oldest houses of the riverlands and can trace their descent back to the first men. While much of their early history is lost, the rose to prominence when made lords of Harrenhal after Aegon's conquest. The play a huge role in the plot of the dance of the dragon and as a result House Of The Dragon most notably Harwin and Larys Strong.

The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. So if you want to learn the story before we see HBO's take on it then this will be a very long-running series. Alys told Sabitha Frey that the dragon’s BASTARD was inside of her. He could have wed her after rescuing her from the Freys but it was never ascertained. Huge mystery as to what happened to Alys and her child.

If the Strongs survived that long in the Riverlands, then they must have been an exceptional house. The Riverland’s geography makes it the default battleground for wars in Westeros. It borders the nearly all other regions and the waterways make it easy get around. So whenever a war breaks out. The Riverlands is always the first to feel it’s wrath.

​@@TrueYellowDartTrue, but Littlefinger got much the same and merely used the status conferred by lordship of Harrenhal as a stepping stone for higher office and power. Larys elevates himself in personal power (gaining the lordship of House Strong and Harrenhal after his father and brother's deaths) and influence (his kinslaying weakens Rhaenyra and strengthens Alicent by allowing Otto Hightower to return as Hand). Larys desires nothing but power and cares nothing for who he has to hurt in order to get it; sociopaths are very much like that.

We currently have no idea, she's a hanging plot thread in fire and blood and she didn't exist yet in the world book which came before fire and blood, so we have to wait for Fire and Blood Volume 2 to find out. For me it's the no. 1 plot thread from Volume One i really need answers to

@@WorldOfWesteros As far as I can ascertain, she got to remain at Harrenhal unimpeded during all of King Aegon III’s regency, which is baffling considering how long it was. I’m also curious about what happened to her child supposedly fathered by Aemon. It’s set up to be future conflict yet never gets mentioned in any of the other histories of Westeros (yet). Even if there is a future conflict, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that it’s insignificant, which would be disappointing if that’s the case. Thanks for replying 😁
