I have alopecia. My hair was long and thick and fell to a tiny Afro. I waited awhile and got locs, which help grow my hair back. I kept my locs for 8 years, and had to cut them off because my hair became dry and brittle, and began to get really thin. A friend of mine has alopecia, but her hair has grown back to its natural state. Her dermatologist gave injections in her scalp as part of her treatment. It’s a terrible feeling to see your hair falling and you can’t control it, but with time it will grow back. God will help her hair to grow back in time. She’s beautiful with her bald head! Keep the scalp cleaned and moisturized. BTW….you and she did a great job on the porch.

Just being introduced to your channel, and I love that Simone wanted to talk about her alopecia, even as she deals with difficult feelings. Kudos to you for keeping the conversation and your tone of voice positive. My mom heart hurts with you because we just want everything to be ok for our babies. My son also has battled eczema since he was an infant (he's 10 now). One of the things that helped was eliminating dairy from his diet. I know that is tough, but it really does help with managing eczema flair-ups. We also use Shea Moisture African black bar soap, and it really helps to manage his skin overall. I even wash his hair with the bar. We follow that up with Aveeno eczema therapy lotion head to toe. Praying for help and healing for your daughter and guidance for you along the way. Simone said it best - we're beautiful with or without our hair. ❤

She’s absolutely beautiful. I don’t have eczema but I’ve suffered with seborrheic dermatitis that caused my hair to fall off and sever scalp itch. I’ve been using kombucha, prebiotics and what really helped is lemon juice in my teas. It’s been years and I’ve not had any itching or flares. If you plan to try her with the lemon, use real lemon and not limes.

She’s beautiful my son and I have the same as Simon for the hair grow Castor oil and rosemary is wonderful for my son’s skin a cream that is called La Campana is black and white works great for bathing there’s a soap from Nutrilite the color is orange helps his skin my son was able to grow his hair back this is what I used.

She is so beautiful inside and out! I’m no doctor but I love the natural route too and feel led to share. Two things came to mind: (1) CeraVe Moisturizer & Olive Oil - Years of dry, flaky skin healed once I learned that I needed to moisturize then seal in that moisture. Applying the CeraVe on wet skin (out the shower) then sealing everything with olive oil (yes EVOO from the kitchen - I had to google to it when I first found out) keeps the moisture locked in. EVOO is an ancient natural remedy for dry skin and has lots of skin and hair benefits, and is even recommended for eczema. I don’t itch anymore and even splash water on my face throughout the day now and my skin doesn’t dry up. (2) Eating according to her blood type - My family and I had the doctor do a blood type test. And once we googled “blood type __ diet” we found so many foods we were eating that was contributing to inflammation, skin issues, body pain, fatigue, etc. Once we stopped eating those foods it changed so much for our internal health so hopefully it can shed some light on any internal contributions triggering the alopecia and eczema.
